RECOVERY PUMP
1. Equipment technical details:
Recovery water pump is required for Ash Water Sump make up. Its suction is from Ash dyke
recovery system. Total 4 pumps provided .When BA and FA is disposed 3 working and 1 Stand
by. When only BA is disposed 1 Working and 3 stand by. One no. pressure indicator and pressure
switch is provided on individual pump to monitor the pressure.

2. Pre check and Action By Field Engineer:


 Ensure no PTW is pending for Recovery pump.
 Ensure recovery make up valve is in open condition.
 Ensure recovery water sump level ok.
 Pump breaker/panel is in service, Emergency push button is in release condition.
 Ensure pump protections are in service and all parameters indication is healthy.
 The pump should rotate freely by hand.
 RCC Over Head Tank level ok.
 Ensure L.P Seal water pump is available.

3. Operating Procedure:

 Release local push button switch of L.P water pump and recovery pump.

 L.P Seal water pump has to be start and discharge pressure (>3.5 kg/cm2).
 Seal water SOV has to be open.
 Seal water pressure switch limit has to be ok.
 Start the selected Recovery water pump.
 Now observe the vibration/temp of pump and bearing.
 Check the discharge pressure as to be ok.
 Periodically check recovery water sump level and adjust water make up as per
requirement.
 For any abnormalities record logbook and inform shift incharge/operation in charge.

4. Shut Down procedure:


 Close the sump make up valve.
 After sump level low then stop the pump
5. POINTS TO BE CHECKED BY OPERATOR IN EVERY SHIFT
 EQUIPMENT CLEANING
 PHYSICALLY VIBRATION CHECKING
 PHYSICALLY TEMPRATURE CHECKING
 OIL LEVEL AND GREASE CHECKING
6. CHECKING OF SYSTEM AFTER SHUT DOWN
 PHYSICALLY CHECK BOTTOM ASH HOPPER AFTER OPENING THE MAN HOLE
DOOR AS LIKE FOREIGN MATERIAL AFTER THAT CHECK THE ROTATION OF
CLINKER GRINDER IN FORWARD AND REVERSE DIRECTION.
 CHECK THE OIL LEVEL FREENESS.

 PHYSICALLY ALL VALVE CHECKING MANUALLY OPERATION THROUGH PLC


AS WELL.

 FIRST ENSURE SLURRY AND ASH WATER SUMP CLEANING AND THEN FILL
THE SUMP.

 CHECK THE SEAL PRESSURE OF ALL DOME VALVE PHYSICALLY.

 CHECK THE LINE VACUUM AND SHUT OFF VACUUM OF ALL PASSES.

 CHECK FLUIDIZING BLOWER AIR OF INDIVIDUAL HOPPER.

 CHECK THE PURZING OF BUFFER HOPPER AND SILO BAG FILTER.

 IF ANY PROBLEM OBSERVED IN EQUIPMENT THEN INFORM TO SHIFT IN


CHARGE/ OPERATION IN CHARGE IMMEDIATLY.
