How to Find MONSTER Trade Setups

I’m probably more obsessed about this than anything I have ever done in my entire life. It has
been the most consistently profitable string of trades that I’ve taken in a long, long time.

And it’s all because of a team.

Did you ever see the movie, “The Big Short”? If not, I highly recommend you watch it.

In the picture above, Steve Carrell is surrounded by his team yelling at their broker from Deutsche
Bank. This is a team of people who, when faced with a critically important crisis within their
company, found opportunity. And from a crisis was born the biggest trade they ever took - “The
Big Short”. It’s how John Paulson made $15 Billion dollars for investors, and $5 Billion dollars for
himself.

Those are huge numbers, but it happened on a team. It didn’t happen in a vacuum.

Have you ever read “Market Wizards”? If you haven’t read it you should.

Why do I love this book so much, and why is it a perennial best-seller?

It’s because it tells the stories of traders who took a big trade.

If they can do it, anyone can do it. Most of these traders are probably retired by now, and freely
able to share the losses they took, along with their big winners.

But they happen more often than you think. And he even admitted that to me off-camera. He’s
just as obsessed as I am in finding big trades.

Since December 2018, I scanned the biggest Monster Trades that occurred over the past 20 years.

And I meticulously broke down each of the trades to see what made them the winners that they
were.

And I cracked the code.

Yes indeed, I cracked the code to unlocking Monster Trade setups, and I will share with you now
what I discovered.

1. Pattern: You need to find repeatable patterns
2. Risk management: Implement effective and responsible risk management
3. Others/Community: Working with a community keeps you accountable

That’s what being a PRO is like. Let’s face it, we all know that trading comes with substantial
risk, but if you’re trading with a team focused on looking for the same repeatable patterns and
applying responsible risk management, then you’re more focused, and you are stacking the odds
on your side.

Let’s Dive into the First Pattern I discovered:

The Flash Crash

Sirius XM Holdings
This is the 2nd most profitable trade that I ever took in the Stock Market.

Back in 2009, everyone had written off Sirius XM. But it wasn’t dead yet, and the risk-to-reward
was outrageous. The possible return was incredible. So , here’s what I looked for:

1. As price was dropping, I was looking for a decrease in selling volume. It happened.

2. Next I wanted to see 3 or more missed monthly pivot points.

A pivot point is the last month’s (High + Low + Close) / 3

In this example, 5 monthly pivot points were missed.

3. Divergence with momentum oscillators signalled a potential reversal to the upside.

Price was falling, but a momentum oscillator like stochastics or RSI was rising.

They Key takeaway to this setup is:

“If a Financial Instrument Misses 3 Monthly Pivot Points,

You Should Stand Up and Take Notice”

Why am I so passionate about this?

This is a snapshot of my Robinhood account from yesterday. I bought 1,000 shares of a $2.57
stock and made over $200 at the close of the session. If I had kept that position open for another
day, I would have made more.

Still, that was an 8% return in one day. Not too shabby.

Let’s move on to another example. This time it’s a Forex trade with the Aussie Dollar and the
Swiss Franc.

1. Massive Drop Off in Selling Volume as Price plummets.

2. 3 Monthly pivot Points missed.

3. AUD/CHF takes off after trendline break. Another Monster Trade.

Spotting Repeatable Patterns

When you learn a repeatable pattern, it’s not always going to look the same. Sometimes it’s really
close. Close enough to “rhyme”.

Once you find a pattern that repeats over and over, then you know you’ve found something special.

The 2nd Pattern I Discovered:

The “SSH” Librarian Pattern

The “Crash Pattern” that we just covered works the best on longer-term charts.

This pattern can work much more frequently on 60-minute charts.

The market we are looking at is Silver, which recently set up a glorious Monster Trade.

There is a combination of things that I look for in this setup:

1. I looked for a stair step downward pattern in price.

2. As price ran down along weekly pivots, I looked for a Gap Down.

3. A weird Head & Shoulders pattern develops, but in reality, it’s

More of a Shoulder-Shoulder-Head formation. “SSH”!

4. Once the downward trendline is broken, you’re off to the races!

5. At the end of the move upward, a “Crash” setup occurred.

3. Monster Trade takes off on trendline break.

Now let’s look at Dillard’s

2. “S-S-H” Pattern Develops, followed by a Reversal Tab. I’ll cover this in a

future session.

3. Monster Trade takes off on trendline break.

We’ve seen the same, repeatable pattern develop on a commodity, a Forex pair, and a stock.

Each one of those trades yielded a monster return.

 When you make
44% in the first
three hours,
you know you
have something
special.

When you identify these setups and you can make 44% in the first 3 hours, you know you’ve got
a strong trade.

32.5% in a day, and

the only problem
is that I didn’t buy
enough contracts.
Won’t make that
mistake again.

As I was fleshing this program out, I wanted to provide Monster Trade examples. In this case, I
made 32.5% in one day.

My problem is that I so obsessed proving my point, that I didn’t take enough contracts. I won’t
make that mistake again.

And here’s where it gets better...

Remember how the “Big Short” story dealt with a team that uncovered a huge opportunity? Well,
here’s a great story.

The guy that created the original “Big Short” trade on the Subprime Mortgage Crisis was named
Paolo Pellegrini, and he worked for John Paulson.

Now you’d think that a guy working at a hedge fund was getting paid super well, but he actually
didn’t have a lot of money, and he took his new wife on vacation to the West Indies.

She stopped at a cash machine in the hotel lobby to withdraw some money, and she looked at
the balance of their checking account. On the screen was a figure that startled her: $45 million
newly deposited in their joint account. It was part of pellegrini’s $175 million bonus that year.

He went from being on the verge of declaring personal bankruptcy to being set for life.

A Monster Trade changed his life.

I certainly can’t promise the same results for you, but I can tell you that it’s these types of trades
that can really make a difference in your account...and in your life.
