execute the 5 severe sinners among them, although there is no punishment if you fail to do
so. At this point, the story starts branching into different timelines depending on player
choices. and as well as with environment. All Participant plays different escape-the-room

2. Gameplay and Mechanics

2.1 Gameplay
2.1.1 Game Progression
The PC (Playable Character) moves in a 2D (two dimensional) plane, the player
can start New game. Novel start with three participants named as Massimo, Aileen,
Elias walk up in a classroom and can open only from outside. They find object and
plan to escape from the Classroom by finding ducks and many other. player will do

6
many choices that will help them to escape the room and directed them towards
hallway.

The player will also interact with another team name as Ryona, Kenji, Hinata,
Darian locked in sins room 1. Player has to help them to find the key of the door to
wine cellar. So they can move towards hallway.

After help all participant, they all reach in Court and meet Joker, and he Inform
them about kidnapping. Also forced them to play a death game called the "Urteil". In
which player helps participant to play mini games like Mindball, dynamic debate. Do
choices and help to do justice.

2.1.2 Objectives
The Objective of this game is to complete the novel and do justice by finding
the most sinner person among 10 participants. Player will help Participants to play
mini-games called Mind ball, dynamic Debate, escape room. Find evidence that will
help them to escape the room. Player can also write his/her thoughts in the Notebook.

2.1.3 Puzzle Structure

Joker is an adventure game consisting of multiple chapters, chapters consist of
narrative sections and escape-the-room puzzle sections. Narrative sections are
presented as two-dimensional animated cinematics, with camera movements and full
voice acting in English. The Escape sections, which include different rooms involves
the player searching the room for tools and clues through a point-and-click interface
in a first-person perspective and solving puzzles. The puzzles are mostly self-
contained, and test the player's problem-solving skills and memory; among these are
puzzles where the player has to decipher messages, and ones where they have to align
the sides of a Two-dimensional object correctly. After completing an Escape section,
the player needs to take a stance in a moral decision. The way the decisions are made
varies: some involve choosing between options, and some have the player input their
own answer.

2.1.5 Screen Flow

2.1.5.1 Main Menu Screen
Right-clicking (or pressing esc) anytime during visual novel sections
opens up the Main Menu. All that was on the screen before (characters,
message boxes, etc.) can stay there, the only important thing is that the player
won’t be able to interact with them while the menu is open. We can also use a
filter for the stuff that’s behind the menu, like a slight blur or pixel effect, you
are allowed to play around with that and find something that looks nice. When
a player tries to open the menu, a short animation showing the chains plays out
before the actual menu is shown.

The menu can be closed the same way it’s opened. Clicking on one of the
choices in the menu will pull up another section. Those points are following list
below:

 Notebook
 Evidence

8
 Title screen
 Save and Phone

2.1.5.2 Notebook
This trusty notebook is the main way for the player to jot down his
thoughts. The player should be able to draw whatever he wants in a black font
by holding down the left mouse key, similarly to Microsoft Paint. There is no
need to add fancy stuff like changing the color of the font or adding an eraser.
However, the player should be able to erase the whole double-page by pressing
the “Erase All” mark. This will pull up a Confirmation Box asking “Are you sure
you want to erase everything on these two pages?” before the double page
gets cleared. Pressing A, D, Left Arrow, or Right Arrow will switch between three
double pages. It’s important that the game remembers what the player has
drawn on each of these double pages even after switching between them or
closing the notebook.
The notebook can also be opened without the main menu by pressing the
N key during novel or escape sections. It can be closed by right-clicking, pressing
esc, or pressing N.

9
2.1.5.3 Evidence
Evidence the player hasn’t found yet will look like the ones in the screenshot,
but if the player has unlocked a piece of evidence, it will look like the Rubber Duck
(picture is shown and the box will be blue instead of grey, showing the name of the
evidence).

The player can use the scroll bar on the right to scroll through the evidence and
click on suspects to change to the suspects section (basically the same screen but with
persons instead of physical evidence). There are referance images given below:

10
2.1.5.4 Title Screen
Clicking on this will pull up a Confirmation Box saying “All unsaved progress will be
lost. Are you sure you want to return to the title screen?”. If the player clicks on Yes, he
will return to the title screen.the confrimaton boz will look this the referance image given
below:

2.1.5.5 Save and Phone

Clicking on Save will still save the player’s current progress, it just won’t
pull up a menu in the demo.

2.1.5.6 Escape room

In this Screen player goal is to solve puzzles in order to get out of an
escape room. When the player clicks on an interactable object in an escape
room, the game needs to check if the current item in the black heart is usable
on that particular object. The game also needs to check how many times this
object has been interacted with, as it changes dialogue depending on that
number. However, this is all very easy to pull off with variables even for someone
without programming knowledge like me, so all you need to do is give the game
a way to check the item ID of the current item in the black heart.I also need a
command for adding/deleting items to/from the player’s inventory(See the
inventory Screen in Section 2.1.5.7). Sometimes in escape rooms, the player will
discover certain puzzles that need to be solved through a minigame, like a chess
puzzle or a sliding puzzle.

11
2.1.5.7 Inventory Screen
Clicking on the black heart opens in Escape room , the inventory. Here the
player will be able to use, inspect, or combine items. This is done by pressing
one of the three buttons, which turns the button red (and turns the previously
selected button grey again) to indicate it’s currently active. When the inventory
gets opened, USE will always be selected at first to make it easy for the player
to change items.
In the above example, the player has only found the scissors so far, which
is why the other boxes are greyed out. When the player finds an item, it will be
shown in the inventory similarly to the scissors.
Depending on which action is selected, the player will interact with the
item in one of the following ways when he clicks on it:
INSPECT: This is a very simple command. Clicking on an item just brings up the
normal message box to show some banter between the characters, discussing
the purpose of the specific item.
COMBINE: When the player clicks on an item while COMBINE is selected, the
only thing that happens is that the item will get a yellow border. The magic
starts to happen after the player clicks on a second item: The game has to check
if the two items are combinable, and if they are, the normal message box will
show up to mirror the protagonist’s thoughts, and the two items will disappear
from the inventory in exchange for a new one.
USE: Clicking on an item closes the inventory and puts the item inside the black
heart. Here’s an example with the scissors:

12
2.1.5.8 Debate Section
In Debate Sections, the player will play logic minigames to uncover the
truth behind certain mysteries. As opposed to Novel Sections, the player won’t
be able to open the menu during the minigame. Those Mini gmaes are :

 Dynamic debate
 Mind ball

2.1.5.9 Dynamic Debate

Dynamic Debates are the main minigame of Debate Sections. In these, the
characters will explain their reasonings behind their theories. It’s the player’s job to
find contradictions.

The text will auto advance, but right-clicking will turn the auto advance off. The
player won’t be able to manually advance the text, though, and will have to right-click
again to turn the auto advance on again. When the end of the text is reached, the
Dynamic Debate UI will disappear and a normal message box will pop up, depicting the
protagonist’s thoughts.

13
After that, the message box will disappear, the Dynamic Debate UI will return again,
and the Debate will loop.

The player has three options to point out contradictions: OBJECT is used when they
know a statement is wrong because of something that was said earlier or common
sense.REFUTE is used when they have physical evidence contradicting a statement,
and SUSPECT is used if a character knows something he shouldn’t, making him
suspicious.

If a player uses the wrong option for a statement, a normal message box will show
up similarly to what happens when the end of the Debate text is reached, depicting
the protagonist’s inner thoughts. The Debate will then loop again.

While the game just needs to check if the correct option was chosen for the correct
statement if a player clicks on SUSPECT or OBJECT, there’s an extra step for REFUTE.
Clicking on REFUTE will bring up the Refute menu, which is almost exactly the same as
the Evidence menu, the only difference is that a submit button will appear when a
player clicks on a piece of evidence:

If the player now clicks on the submit button, the game has to check if the correct
piece of evidence was used for a specific statement to decide whether the player’s
input was right or wrong.

Regardless of which option the player chose (Object, Refute, Suspect), if it was
the right option for a specific statement the protagonist will raise his voice and point
out the contradiction, to which the attacked character either has an answer or
concedes and ends the dynamic debate.

14
If an attacked character has an answer to the protagonist’s claim, the debate will
continue with extra text. If the player doesn’t find a contradiction until the extra text
is over, the debate will continue normally. In the following example, Not finding a
contradiction in Statement 3A or 3B would result in the debate continuing with
Statement 4:

2.1.5.10 Mind Ball

Mind Ball is a minigame that is used to find out a single-word answer to
certain mysteries (e.x. What was the murder weapon? -> K-N-I-F-E). This works
out in a playing field with similar physics to a pool table, meaning the ball will
bounce off objects in the same angle that it hit them. The only difference to a
pool table’s phsysics is that the ball will not lose momentum. A good example of
mobile games that use these physics well are “BBTAN” and “Okay?”. “Okay?” is
an especially useful example, as it has only one ball at once and the player is free
to place it wherever he wants - just like how it should be in Mind Ball.

15
When mind ball starts, the player’s cursor will turn into the ball itself. When the
player clicks with the left mouse key, the ball will lock on to its current position,
and the player will be able to move a black arrow 360 degrees around the ball,
setting the direction in which the ball should be shot. If the player clicks with the
right mouse key, the black arrow will disappear and they’ll be able to move the
ball again. If the player clicks with the left mouse key, however, the ball will be
shot in the direction of the arrow.
After the ball is shot, it will bounce off the letter boxes. Each time a letter box is
hit, its letter will be added to the display at the bottom. If the correct boxes are
hit in the correct order, the player succeeded and mind ball will end. If a player
fails to fill out the correct answer before the ball hits one of the edges, the ball
will go off-screen (& disappear), the player will lose a life, the display at the
bottom will be reset, and a new ball will appear as the cursor.

16
This is what would happen if the ball was shot in the direction the arrow is in in
the screenshot. It would hit K, N, I, F, E, and all of these letters would be added
to the display at the bottom. Let’s assume that Knife is the right solution for this
particular mind ball section, so in this case the player will succeed.

2.2 Mechanics
2.2.1 Actions
Communication and interaction can only be done through the Keys of the keyboard
and cursor movement. As this game is developed only for desktop.

2.3 Replaying and Saving

As this is a video game we need progress to be saved. So that is why, when a user wants
to save the game it will automatically save the current Progress of the user without opening
the main menu screen in the gameplay. The progress of the game is saved automatically and
whenever the game is played again, he/she can start from the same screen from where
he/she left. A user can also replay a game by starting with new Game button in main menu

3. Story, Setting and Character

Massimo: Okay...? Well, not worse than usual...
Aileen (crying): Massimo! You're alive!
Elias (angry): Calm down! I already told you he's not dead!
Massimo: ...
Massimo: Wait. Where are we?
Aileen: I'm not sure. It's a classroom, but it's not our school, is it?
Massimo: Our school is really fucking old, but this room here is even worse.
Elias: Yeah, I don't think this is our school, either.
Massimo: So... You don't know where we are?
Aileen: Sorry, I really don't have a clue.
Massimo: Do you know anything about what's going on?
Elias: Not much more than you. It appears that all of us were unconscious. I woke
up about 5 minutes before you.
Aileen: Then he woke me up, and we were trying to get you out of your slumber.
Elias: We don't know what's going on. The last thing I remember is cleaning up
the chemistry room.
Aileen: So do I.
Massimo: ...
BLANK: No use. I can't remember how I got here.
Massimo: So, why don't we get out?
Elias: Because it's locked. I don't know how-

>message box shows

Aileen: Massimo, the door won't open just because you're trying it instead of
Elias.
Massimo: How about we look around, then.
BLANK: I don't care about this situation, but what are Elias and Aileen doing here?
I hope they're not in danger.
BLANK: And more importantly, why am I still alive?
>show picture massimo with gun(see the Images in the Section 8)
BLANK: Is this the afterlife? No, that can't be it. Elias and Aileen didn't die, let
alone at the same time as me.
BLANK: But then... What am I forgetting?
>discard picture
Elias: Hey princess, would you consider helping us?
Massimo: I'm sorry, I have to think about something. I can't focus on anything
else right now.
Aileen (worried): Massimo...

3.1.2 Chapter 2

Protagonist: Aileen

>classroom background, Elias and Massimo in scene
Elias: Phew, it looks like we made it.
Massimo: Nice observation, captain. Of course we did.
BLANK: Massimo really doesn't need this situation in his current condition. I wish
I could help him somehow...
Aileen: I can't wait to get out, either, but there's something I wanted to ask you,
Massimo.
Massimo: Hurry up.
Aileen: Okay, um...
[CHOICE]The three calculators
Aileen: I don't understand how to solve the calculator problem. Could you explain
it to me?
Massimo: Well, okay.
Massimo: It's a fairly old problem. You know how one calculator shows either x
or y?
Massimo: We had to avoid that one at any cost. So, logically, I chose the
calculator labeled with "x and y".
Elias (thinking): Because the labels were at incorrect places...
Massimo: Don't interrupt me.
Massimo: Anyway, we got the x and thus the placement for the
"x" label. Now there are only two labels left.
Aileen: That's the part I figured out. Since the locations are all wrong, you just
have to switch out these two.
Elias: Hm... I see...
Massimo: Are we done now? We should get going.
BLANK: It's always been awkward to talk with Massimo since he decided to
completely shift mood.

20
BLANK: My days really got brighter when he told me one of his stupid jokes.
BLANK: And whenever others were in a bad mood, he'd make sure to be so happy
that it almost got annoying.
Blank: He lived a carefree life and cheered up his peers. He didn't deserve
problems like this...
[CHOICE 2]"She"
BLANK: Hold on Aileen, are you absolutely retarded?! I can't ask him about her
again, he'll just get even sadder.
>Choice 2 disapears, choose again
[CHOICE 3]Woman in the picture
Aileen: Who was the woman in the picture? Do you have any idea?
Massimo: No. It wasn't the Mona Lisa, that much is certain.
Aileen: I see... well...
Massimo: But how is that question important right now?
BLANK: It isn't, I'm just desperately trying to find a conversation topic! Ugh, let
me think of something else.
>Choice 3 disappears, choose again

>C and Nissa show up
BLANK: We used the other key we found in the classroom to set them free.
>Elias and Massimo show up
(C) ???: Thank you.

21
Elias: So, what are your names again?
C: Call me C.
Elias: Huh?
Massimo: Elias. Run away.
C: I don't like my name, so I want to get called "C". Where's the problem?
Aileen: Well, um, I'm Aileen, but you can call me... Aileen.
Massimo: So, what about you? Are you called "B"? Are we going to form the alphabet?
Nissa: I am Nissa van Ugguland! Pleased to meet you!
Nissa: I tried getting rid of the shackles, but it was not possible without hurting others.
Elias: Uh, what is she talking about?
C: Just leave her be. I tried to understand her for the last 20 minutes, without results.
C: But what about you guys? You said something about solving puzzles in a classroom?
Aileen: Yeah, that's why we thought we were in a school, although this hallway
definitely gives off a different vibe.
Aileen: That aside, is that door open? I don't want to spend more time here than
necessary.
Massimo: Only one way to find out.

3.1.4 Chapter 4
In this chapter there are 4 more Character kidnapped in sins room 1, following are the
Communication and Action to escape from room

Protagonist: Kenji

Kenji: My name is Kenji Armakami. I am an IT student.

22 years old.

Kenji: My hobbies are drinking alcohol and my fetishes include older women and nurses.

Kenji: What about you, sugar? *hic*

22
Woman: Sigh, why are all guys in this place so trashed?

Woman: Go home, you should call yourself a taxi.

Kenji: Taxis, yeah... That does sound...

Woman: Hey! Can anybody do something about this guy? He's fallen unconscious!

BLANK: I overdid it last night, and not remembering a single thing is nothing unusual for me.

BLANK: However, what's unusual is waking up somewhere else than your own home or the
police station.

BLANK: Honestly, I have no idea what happened.

BLANK: All I know is that I've heard multiple voices as I slowly regained consciousness.

>show screen

>background sin room 1

>Ryona and Hinata in the scene, both emotional

BLANK: 2 women were around me, and they freaked out for a while.

BLANK: After a few minutes, they've calmed down.

BLANK: Following "The Rules Of Dating", I took advantage of the situation to steer the
conversation.

Kenji: So, how about we introduce ourselves first?

(Hinata) ???: I agree. We're not getting anywhere with yelling at each other.

BLANK: When flirting with two girls at once, it's important not to look at the one that's looking
like she's underage.

BLANK: It will show the other girl that you're a man who chooses, plus you won't wind up in
prison afterwards.

(Ryona) ???: Hmpf...

BLANK: Since nobody wanted to start, I introduced myself first.

(Hinata) ???: Interesting.

Hinata: My name's Hinata. I'm 27 years old and a nurse. Guess I'm pretty old compared to
you.

BLANK: .....!

BLANK: 5 years older than me?! AND a nurse?! Praise the lord...!

Ryona: I'm Ryona. I'm 17 and still a student.

23
Kenji: So, what is the last thing you girls remember?

Hinata: I've been working, like usual.

Ryona: I've been at home and sleeping.

Kenji: And I've been outside... Nothing in common.

Kenji: Wait, why are we still in this room, though?! Let's get out!

Hinata: No chance. This door leads to a wine cellar, and the door over there is shut tight.

BLANK: Wait, this part wasn't in the dating advice book...

Ryona: However, we solved a bunch of puzzles while you were unconscious. Actually, if we
put in that code we got there...

Ryona: Well, will you look at that! The door's open.

Kenji: Wait, what?

Hinata: Come on now. Let's get out of here.

Kenji: ...

BLANK: They figured out how to get out of here without me?

Tutorial: Looks like Kenji overslept because this is a demo. Let's hope he'll be awake to help
the women when the full game releases!

3.1.5 Chapter 5
Protagonist: Kenji

Hideaki: I'm Shouji Hideaki.

Hideaki: Listen, if you want money, you can have it. You don't have to kidnap me for it.

24
Kenji: We didn't kidnap you! We have no idea what's going on, either.

Hideaki: Sure, we all believe you. Care to explain why we're the only ones handcuffed here?

Hideaki: Also... What the hell is that outfit?

BLANK: Yeah, exactly my thoughts! I just can't take my eyes off that sexy nurse outfit!

Ryona: Please just ignore my outfit... It's a long story.

BLANK: Huh?

Ryona: Anyways... Who are you?

Darian: My name is Darian. I'm 24 years old and I'm...

Hideaki: An annoyance.

Darian: Huh?!

Hideaki: Imagine being tied to a random stranger and he starts small talking about the fucking
weather.

Darian: Um... I was trying to be ni-

Ryona: Oh, we should probably get rid of your handcuffs.

Hideaki (annoyed): Ah, no hurry. It's such a nice feeling to be handcuffed.

Kenji: How should we open them, though?

Hinata: Actually, we did find a key in the wine cellar, maybe that will do the trick.

Kenji: It's worth a shot.

Hideaki: Finally.

Darian: Um, I'd like to point out that I'm-

Hinata: Let's get going. I want to get out already.

>tv up close, joker on it
BLANK: *beep* (play sound)
>novel6
??? (Joker): Good morning, fellow offenders.
Darian: Offenders? Like, criminals?
??? (Joker): I am Joker and I'd suggest you pay attention since I'm not going to repeat
myself.
Joker: You are all here because you've done something wrong. Something very wrong.
Joker: You're ten people. Five teenagers, and five adults. Five males, and five females.
Joker: Five whose sins are only small... And five who've sinned severely.
Joker: I've only divided you after one of those schemes. It shouldn't be hard to find
out which one.
BLANK: ...!
Joker: I want you to play a game. It's called "Urteil".
Joker: You have to pass judgment on your playmates.
Joker: Whose sin weighs more on the scale of justice? It's your task to decide.
Joker: Every 2 hours, you'll have to vote for the one whose sin weighs the most. The
person with the most votes will be executed.
Ryona: E-Executed?!
Joker: Do this 5 times, and you'll achieve freedom.
Joker: To sum it up... In order to get out, 5 people have to die.
Joker: Most ideally, you'll execute the 5 severe sinners among you, although there is
no punishment if you fail to do so.
C: Joker, how did you decide which sins are severe?
Joker: I thought I said you should stay quiet and listen.
C: ...

27
BLANK: C didn't get an answer to her question, but her eyes look like she got exactly
what she wanted...
BLANK: Maybe her actual question was something else, and that actual question got
answered somehow?
BLANK: She seems to be a rather smart girl, so I should keep what just happened in
mind.
Joker: My personal understanding of morality is that of Julian Kohlberg.
Joker: Oh, that's right. There are some other rooms in this building. You may have a
better chance of getting out alive by searching them.
>show sin room 1
Joker: There are so-called sin rooms, showing either an item connected to one of your
sins or an anagram giving you a hint about your situation.
>discard picture
Joker: Using them to your advantage is recommended. There's even a tiny chance that
less people have to die then.
Joker: But... Do you even want everyone to be alive after you've found out what they
had done?
Joker: The choice is yours. The first verdict will be rendered in 20 minutes. With every
verdict, two rooms unlock.
Joker: Have fun with the game. Render your verdict. Fällt euer Urteil.

>kenji hideaki elias ryona in scene
Kenji: Wh... Uh... What?!
Hideaki: What the fuck?!
Elias: This is not funny! I want to go home already!
BLANK: ......
Ryona: I don't even know what my sin's supposed to be! What is this shit?!
Hideaki: I don't think anybody in this room is going to tell us their sin.
Hideaki: It could assure their death, after all.

28
>aileen joins scene, ryona leaves scene
Aileen: Are you planning to actually play the game?!
Hideaki: Are you deaf? He said that we are going to die if we refuse.
Elias: But... What if it's a joke?
Hideaki: If this really is some fucked up joke, then nobody's going to get executed.
Hideaki: But if it isn't... We are going to die if we don't vote.
>Hideaki leaves scene, Hinata joins scene
Hinata: This is terrible! I won't play along!
Massimo: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
>Aileen leaves scene, Darian joins scene
Darian: The fuck?! What's with the emo kid now?!
Massimo: Oh my god, this is awesome.
Elias: Um...
Massimo: My life has a purpose again! Elias, Aileen... I'll get you out of here! Promise!
>ryona joins, hinata leaves
Ryona: Everybody wants to get out of this, you psycho!
Darian: Argh, what are we going to do?! We'll all die...!
>music fades out
>only kenji in scene
Kenji: Let's calm down first.
>novel22
Kenji: We should discuss what he said. For example, what is this "Urteil" word he's
been using?
>hideaki joins
Hideaki: It's German. It means "verdict". Makes sense, doesn't it?
Kenji: What about that Kohlberg thingy? Who was that?
Massimo: I know him. Lawrence Kohlberg was a famous psychologist who invented a
system to measure the morality of a human.

29
Massimo: Julian Kohlberg was his grandson, he refined his system and expanded it so
it could be used to measure more aspects - like the severity of sins and crimes.
Massimo: I don't know the exact measure details, but I know the general rules.
Massimo: That physical harm usually is more severe than psychological harm, for
example. And death is the most severe of them all.
Massimo: There are also traces of utilitarianism. The sin weighs more if many people
are harmed.
Massimo: Following this system, a serial rapist is a greater sinner than a one-time
murderer.
>aileen joins
Aileen: Massimo, I've been wondering about that for a long time, but... How do you
know things like these?
Massimo: It's always good to understand how the human mind works. That's why I'm
researching all sorts of stuff.
>hinata joins
Hinata: He could've just made it up, though.
Hideaki: No. Kohlberg's stages of moral development are well known scientific
theories.
Hideaki: Julian Kohlberg is not as famous, but every psychology student will read
something about him at some point of his life.
>aileen leaves, ryona joins
Ryona: So you two know who this person is. Maybe you two are the masterminds
behind this?
Hideaki: Oh, come on. Why would we make it that obvious if we were?
Ryona: Um... Reverse psychology?
Massimo: You don't know Kohlberg but want to talk about psychology? Come on.
>only kenji and darian in scene
Kenji: Hey, hey. We won't get anywhere with throwing suspicions at each other.
Darian: He's right, we-
>C joins scene

30
C: Hold it.
C: Apparently I'm the only one who noticed, so allow me to adress the elephant in the
room.
C: Aileen asked Massimo a question... And she told him that she's been wondering
about it for a long time.
>Nissa joins scene
Nissa: Yeah, so?
C: We've been in this building for about one and a half hours. Would you consider one
and a half hours a long time?
Kenji: ...I guess not.
C: Nobody in this room knows anyone from the group. Except for Massimo and Aileen.
You know each other, don't you?
>nissa leaves, aileen joins
Aileen: We're classmates, yes. Massimo, me, and Elias were abducted together.
C: You're more than classmates. Massimo was full of energy when he told you he
would get you out of here.
Aileen: That's also correct. We are friends, but-
C: Wouldn't you say that's suspicious?
>darian leaves, elias joins
Elias: What?! What are you implying?
Massimo: No no, she's right. I admit it. We've been found out.
Massimo: We are all evil geniuses who organized this game,
but accidentaly spilled out that we know each other.
Kenji: *sigh*
Back at throwing suspicions again...
>music stop
>show joker on tv
Joker: 10 minutes are over. In another 10 minutes, you'll have to render your verdict.
To make it easier for you, I'll now show you the sins you've committed.

BLANK: ...
Kenji: What the fuck?!
Elias: Pedophilia? Murder? Burning... an orphanage?
Hideaki: Wait. There's something really, really strange about the sins.
BLANK: He's right... But what exactly is it?
Tutorial: When you have to answer a question with a single word, MIND BALL will
start.
Tutorial: In MIND BALL, you have to hit the letter blocks in the right order to form the
correct answer. Place the ball anywhere on the field and press again for the direction
you want it to go.
Tutorial: Be aware that there are blocks with letters you won't need for the answer as
well as other obstacles in later levels. Good luck!
>Start Mind Ball 1
>return after successfull Mind Ball
>darian, kenji, and nissa in scene
Massimo: The number doesn't make sense.
Massimo: We are 10 people, but there are only 9 sins.
Nissa: How can a person be without a sin? That's even more suspicious than a severe
sin!
Darian: ...
>novel6b
Darian: I can't take it anymore...
Darian: I have to get punished for my sin, anyway. And before I get suspected for
something even worse, I'm going to tell you...
Kenji: Darian?
Darian: It was revenge. For the bastard that abused my girl.

32
Darian: We've been together since highschool. Thought we'd stay together for
eternity, but then...
Darian: She told me how she has been forced to sleep with this yakuza guy because
she was indebted to him.
Darian: He threatened her to go after me if she refused.
Darian: I was never angry at my girlfriend for cheating on me, no... All my anger was
directed towards that bastard.
Darian: I couldn't take it anymore, you know. One day, I took a gun and...
Darian: My sin is...
*music stops*
Darian: Murder.
>novel14
>hideaki joins
Hideaki: NOOOOOO!
Darian: Huh?
Hideaki: Darian... You... You doomed us all!
Darian: What the hell do you mean? The only secret I revealed was my own!
Hideaki: .....!
BLANK: What's up with Hideaki? He completely lost his cool...
BLANK: ...!
Massimo: I see!
>nissa leaves, c joins
C: Looks like you caught on as well. How did we get divided?
>kenji leaves, hinata joins
Hinata: After age, obviously.
C: Do you really believe that?
Hideaki: Who cares how we were divided?! Just shut up!
BLANK: Hideaki is out of it. We must have struck a weak point.

33
BLANK: Alright then, I will clear up the confusion.
Tutorial: When there's a heavy discussion going on, you'll participate in a DYNAMIC
DEBATE.
Tutorial: You have three ways of reacting to statements during a DYNAMIC DEBATE. If
you don't want to react to a statement, just wait until the next statement shows up.
Tutorial: (1) If a statement directly contradicts something you have in your Evidence
files, you have to REFUTE the statement.
Tutorial: (2) If a statement is false, and you know that because of something that
happened earlier, but you don't have any physical evidence, you have to OBJECT to
the statement.
Tutorial: (3) If a statement is correct, but the person who said it should have no way
of knowing whatever he said in his statement, it's time to SUSPECT that person.
Tutorial: Anyone can err, but only the fool persists in his fault. Most of the time, the
person you attacked will follow up with another statement, that's why the debate is
dynamic.
Tutorial: They might have a perfectly fine explanation for their mistake, in which case
you should leave it be and search for contradictions in another statement.
Tutorial: However, there's also the possibility that they slip up once again, in which
case you shouldn't let them off the hook and react to their statement again!
Tutorial: Try to find out the truth. Good luck.
>novel22
>elias, kenji, c, hideaki in scene
Massimo: Let's get this cleared up one after another.
Massimo: By the process of elimination, we can conclude that we were divided after
our sins.
Massimo: Unless we have 5 trans people among us, we can discard the gender option
pretty easily.
Massimo: The problem with the age division is that we don't know how Joker defines
"adults" and "teenagers".
Massimo: Is the turning point 13? 18? 21? There is not a worldwide answer to that
question.

34
Massimo: However, all of the people in our group would have to be younger than all
of the people in your group, which is not the case.
Elias: Ryona is 17... But C is 18.
Elias: If we really were divided after age, Ryona and C would be in different groups!
Kenji: I get that! But what's the deal?
Hideaki: You still haven't figured it out yet?
C: Murder is one of the severe sins. This makes all of the people on your side the
severe sinners.
Kenji: Wait, what?! That can't be!
Joker: 5 minutes remain. Get ready to enter your vote.
Massimo: Shit! I have to hurry!
>elias leave, hinata join
Hinata: Hold on! I did nothing wrong! My sin is... stealing, yes!
C: Give it up.
Joker told us he divided us after one of the three schemes.
We just proved the other 2 are wrong.
Hideaki: Well, but that's my point! Darian could be Joker himself, and this is all a trap
set up by him!
Massimo: Thanks to C, that is also not possible.
Massimo: You see, C was interrupting Joker when he appeared on the TV.
Massimo: Her question wasn't answered right away, in fact Joker got angered and told
her to not interrupt him.
Massimo: But that wasn't her actual question... The actual question going on in your
mind was "is this a recording", isn't that right, C?
C: ...
C: I'm impressed you noticed.
C: Since Joker reacted to me, we can be sure that it was a live transmission, and not a
recording.
Hideaki: Bitch...

BLANK: We five committed horrible crimes...?
BLANK: But I don't remember my sin!
BLANK: But that's the problem! I also don't remember doing any of the smaller sins!
BLANK: So if I really did forget my sin, it's possible that it's something severe!
BLANK: What have I done? Why can't I remember?!
Hideaki: I won't die here. We have to join forces against one of them!
Hideaki: These guys are going to eliminate us one after another. But as long as we are
more people, we can outvote them!
>ryona leaves, c joins
C: Oh, then we'll do the same and choose you. You are the biggest asshole here.
C: And don't forget, one of you burned a fucking orphanage.
The murderer isn't the worst person on your side.
Hideaki: Okay, bitch, then it's you! We're all going to vote for you!
C: Come on, guys! Let's vote for the bigwig.
Kenji: ...!
C, Hinata, Darian leave ; massimo, elias, aileen join
Massimo: Elias, Aileen, let's do it. This guy appears to be dangerous. If we don't join
forces now, we're going to regret it later.
Elias (irritated): B...But!
Aileen: We can't just kill him like that!
Massimo: Please... I don't want you guys to die. Listen to C and do what she says.
Elias and Aileen leave, Nissa join

36
Nissa (worried): .....
Hideaki: Darian, you're in danger as much as I am! They know that you are the
murderer!
>Darian joins
Darian: I... I have to accept my punishment...!
Hideaki: Fuck no! Vote for C! We have to minimize our danger!
>Massimo and Nissa leave, Hinata and Ryona join
Hinata (worried): ..............
Ryona (worried): What the... What the fuck...
Hideaki: What about you, Kenji?! You want to survive, don't you?!
Kenji: I... I...
Joker: 20 seconds remain. Use the pictures on your phone to render your verdict.
Whoever refuses to vote will get executed.
>show phone vote cg
BLANK: Oh god... What should I do? I have to vote for someone, or I'll die myself! C?
Or Hideaki?
BLANK: Hideaki is an asshole, and he's committed a severe sin... C didn't.
BLANK: But if I don't choose C, then maybe I'll be the one to die! It's way too risky!
BLANK: And then there's Darian, who's a murderer. I don't know what Hideaki's sin is,
but if I voted for Darian, I'd at least know that I'm voting for a murderer!
BLANK: C... Darian... Hideaki...
BLANK: What... Should I... do...?
3 choices: Vote for C, Vote for Hideaki, Vote for Darian
