QUICK,SIMPLE MEASUREMENT
OF SYSTEM PARAMETERS WITH COMMUNICATION

> Fast measurement and monitoring

> Single or three phase
> Input current and voltage sampling
> Wide range of system parameters
> MODBUS communications

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR THE MODERN WORLD

In a competitive business environment, it pays to

stay ahead of the game. AREVA T&D offers complete
solutions for the entire energy chain, from primary
equipment to market management software.

THE M2X1 RANGE

The MiCOM M2x1 range comprises:

> M211 Non communicating Measurement Centre

> M231 Communicating Measurement Centre
> M241 Communicating Measurement Centre with Data Recorder
(See separate documents for M211 and M241)

EASYUSE CASE

All models in the range offer the benefits of the new EasyUse case, which uses
embedded ring current transformers, allowing cables to be passed through them
without the need for a termination connection . The result is simpler installation and
increased reliability of the current connection. If the cable needs to be terminated
there is a connection block fitted.

Customer Benefits M231 COMMUNICATING MEASUREMENT CENTRE

• Comprehensive set of
The M231 Communicating Measurement Centre provides quick, reliable measurement
measurements
and monitoring of electrical quantities in a single or three phase electrical distribution
• Optional %THD system. It utilises fast microprocessor sampling of the input current and voltage
• High speed communications quantities to calculate a wide range of system parameters such as energy, power,
• Simplified connections frequency and THD.
• Easy integration to
DCS/SCADA
• Large LCD display

APPLICATION
> Single phase or three phase connections

> For balanced or unbalanced loads

ENERGY MONITORING
> Multilingual selectable menu text
The M231 is intended for use on systems where
> Compact and rugged design
energy monitoring and instrumentation are required,
> Pulsed outputs providing Volts, Amps, Watts, Vars, VA, power factor,
frequency and THD, as well as metering for active and
reactive energy.
Demand values for current, active, reactive and
apparent power are also provided.

THD measurement is available as an option.

COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS

The M231 is more cost effective than using separate

devices, saving on hole punching and wiring costs, as
well as device costs and panel space costs.

COMMUNICATIONS

The M231 enables system level access for all

parameters and settings using MODBUS RTU
communications over EIA RS232 or RS485
connections.
The M231 is configured using the IDSP setting
programme, which is common to the M241
(Measurement centre with data recorder) and the
I400 range of digital communicating transducers.

High speed (115,200bps) communications is available

as an option.
