The Rumi Daybook

Free Pdf Books

"My heart wandered through the world constantly seeking after my cure, but the sweet and delicious
water of life had to break through the granite of my heart."  When the words of Rumi enter your
heart, something softens, breaks, and is subtly reborn. That he wrote the words seven hundred
years ago in a medieval Persian world that bears little resemblance to ours makes their uncanny
resonance to us today just that much more remarkable. Here is a treasury of daily wisdom from this
most beloved of all the Sufi masters—both his prose and his ecstatic poetry—that you can use to
start every day for a year, or that you can dip into for inspiration any time you need to break through
the granite of your heart.

I lived on this book for a while after and through a hard time in my life. I'm a muslim and Rumi is
from my country but I have never read it this religiously. A lot of his poems recite a verse of quran
which I was reading simoultaneously. I highly recommened this book if you are doing soul
searching. I can say that the poems changed my life at times or at least had a very deep effect on
me. I loved the book and take it every where with me on my kindle. It is a deep read but I went
through it very fast as it was hard to put down.

....with much Rumi I have never heard before. Can be included with my other books the support my
spiritual practice as I have to work through the poems, not just read them to feel good. Much
appreciated.
Well designed book, contains the essential Rumi, for the wisdom reader. Much to be gained from
these pages. Helminski has added touches of his own, enhancing the text.

This book takes another look at Rumi from someone other than Coleman Barks. The translations
are supposed to be more accurate and literal, but it is not as poetic as Barks' works. However, for
those who are real scholars of Rumi it is a great addition!

I wasn't enthralled with this book. Very simplistic, a little boring. Thought it would be deeper and a
little more inspirational. I've read much better. Pretty disappointed, couldn't even finish it.
