ENGAGE
Teacher asks students to look at Kenyir Lake, Terengganu pg 0. Students find out a surface area and reservoir
volume of the lake. Teacher then asks students to look at picture of memory cards pg 2. Teacher asks students
various capacity of memory cards. Teacher asks students to form a formula related to the numbers.
EXPLORE

Chosen group explain what is index notation, base and index or exponent with a guide from a teacher. Students give
explaination based on some example.

EXPLAIN
ACTIVITY
Each group answer example 1 pg 2 with a guide from a teacher. Then they procede with Mind Test 1.1a pg 3. Each
group will presents by placemate activity. Teacher distributes A3 paper to each group. Teacher monitor the activity.
ELABORATE
Teacher write a number in white board then asks students to convert the number into a number in index form.
Students explain some ways to obtained index number from a number with a guide from a teacher. Students will
answer Mind Test 1.1b pg 5. Teacher will guide students to obtained a result by using scientific calculator.
