Identification Policy

It is your responsibility to read and understand the Identification (ID) requirements in the TOEFL iBT® Information Bulletin
or at www.ets.org/toefl/ibt/register/id . A valid ID document with your name, signature and photograph is required. In
addition, ID requirements vary depending on where you plan to test and your citizenship. If you arrive at the test center
without the required ID, you will not be admitted and your test fee will not be refunded.

The name that appears on the ID you present at the test center must exactly match the name you used when you
registered. If the names do not match, you may not be able to take the test and your test fee will not be refunded.

If your name and/or date of birth need to be updated, you cannot change these fields. Contact us by phone at +1-877-
863-3546 if you are calling from the U.S. or Canada, or +1-609-771-7100 for all other locations. Agents are available
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time. You may also email us a copy of your primary ID at
toefl@ets.org. Your request must be received and processed by 10:00 p.m. local test center time on the day before your
test.

If you think you may not be able to meet the ID requirements, please contact the ETS Office of Testing Integrity (OTI) as
soon as possible − they may be able to help you resolve any issues before your test date. Contact OTI by email at
TSReturns@ets.org, or by phone at +1-609-406-5430 (Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time, except
U.S. holidays).

On Test Day

Report to the test center at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment for check-in procedures. If you arrive
late, you may not be admitted, and your test fee will not be refunded. Plan to be at the test center approximately 4 1/2
hours for the TOEFL iBT test.

Cell phones, smart phones, watches, (including digital, analog and smart watches), and any other electronic, listening,
recording or photographic devices are not permitted in the testing room. For further information, see the TOEFL iBT
