OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to understand the texts by providing at least two main points
correctly.

By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to narrate a short story by using their own words.

ACTIVITIES: I. PRE-LESSON
i. Teacher starts the lesson by playing a game with the pupils, “Story in 30 seconds”.
ii. Teacher throws the ball around the class and the pupil with the ball has to narrate a story on
any topic within 30 seconds.
iii. This game continues for about three minutes.

II. LESSON

ACTIVITY 1
i. Teacher divides the pupils into two groups.
ii. Teachers distributes two short stories to each group and asks them to identify the main events
in the story.
iii. Teacher does jigsaw reading with the pupils where one member has to go to the other group
to explain about their stories.
iv. Teacher moves on to Activity 2.

ACTIVITY 2 (Pair work)


i. Teacher asks the pupils to stay in the same group.
ii. Each group has to come up with a story and teacher provides some time for them to get ready.
iii. Teacher calls out each group to present their story.
iv. Pupils are given some time to provide feedback to their friends’ performances.

III. POST-LESSON
i. Teacher does reflection through Exit Card.
ii. Teacher asks the pupils to write their feelings on the lesson and stick it at the back of the
class.
