PURPOSE OF THE TEACHING PLAN:
To facilitate the student in giving health teachings and organize the order and topics to be discussed in the health teaching.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
To equip the patient or client with the knowledge about breast cancer and its management.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
1. After discussing about
breast cancer, the patient
will be able to verbalize
understanding about the
condition.
2. After explaining the
different signs and
symptoms of breast
cancer, the patient will be
able to identify at least 4
different signs and
symptoms.
3. After discussing the
different risk factors and
complications of breast
cancer, the patient will be
able to enumerate at least
most of the risk factors
and complications

- Maintaining a healthy weight
- Eating a healthy diet
- Meditation & relaztion
- Limiting alcohol
- Getting physical exercise
- Not smoking
 Healthy diet:
- Limit  calorie foods &
beverages
- 100% whole grain foods
- Limit red meat and
processed meat
- Limit trans and saturated fats
- Consider eating carotenoids
foods such as carrots, sweet
potatoes, squash and melons
- Considered  fat diet
 Treatments:
- Radiation therapy
- Surgical removal of cancer
tissue
- Biopsy
- Chemotherapy

 Effects:
-  risk of infection

- mouth and dental problems
- skin and nail changes
