1
Physical Damage Case
In general, physical damage is caused by misuse, accident, modification, unsuitable physical or operating environment or improper
maintenance. Some common physical damage case will be shown as follow. Frontline can use this for reference to classify the physical damage
case since those cases will be not covered by Base Warranty service.

1. Obvious CID Issue as per CID Guideline (Not apply for New / Open Box Machine)
a. Crack / Gap / Pressure / Leakage / Damage Issue - Action needed from Vendor before escalate to Lenovo Technical team:
Step 1: Identifying CID – Check Servicer Tips / Any QI or Known Issue found?
Answer: If Yes, proceed with QI. Else, go to Step 2. Unless, customer reported >3 machines with same symptoms then Vendor
should escalate to Lenovo Technical team.
Step 2: Machine covered under a TPP / ADP warranty upgrade?
Answer: If yes, please make sure symptom reported is covered under TPP / ADP. Else, inform customer that the symptoms
reported will not be covered under Base Warranty or TPP/ ADP warranty and ask them how they wish to proceed.

2. Mechanical Part (Verify with CID Guidelines before escalate to Lenovo Technical Team)
b. Part Required: Palm rest / Keyboard Bezel / Keyboard

Issue Reported: Posting Error 021x / Keyboard Key’s Not Responding /

Erratic Mouse Movement Touchpad / TrackPoint or Mouse / Caps Lock Indicator No Longer Appears / Touchpad or TrackPoint
Button Not Responding / Key Stuck or Sticky / Speaker Not Working / Speaker No Sound or Cracking Sound / Fingerprint Not
Working

During Vendor Engineer onsite: If engineer onsite found that there is CID, then Vendor should not replace for customer

3. Lenovo supports CID parts replacement for functional failure case, Only if the failure symptom is not caused by/related to CID area.
