B. REVIEW
“Alright, for you to recall our topic
yesterday which is about PAR, you are
going to plot the PAR this is a group
review.”
(Students are listening attentively)
Plotting the PAR
Materials
1. Printed map of the Philippines
and vicinity attached on a half
illustration board
2. Marker and ruler
Procedure
1. Plot the following points on
the map below.
Points Latitude,
longitude
a. 5°N, 115°E
b. 15°N, 115°E
c. 21°N, 120°E
d. 25°N, 120°E
e. 25°N, 135°E
f. 5°N, 135°E

2. Connect the plotted points.

3. Each group will be given 2
minutes to plot and connect
the coordinates, as you finish
it, you may raise your board.
The first group who finish it first will receive
plus 5 on your activity later.

“Now, kindly check if you have all the materials

needed for plotting the PAR”

“Any questions before you begin?”

“If that so, your minutes starts now” “We have all the materials needed Ma’am, we have
ruler, marker and map and its vicinity of the
Philippines”

“None”

(All students are participating in plotting the PAR

with their designated group mates)

“VERY GOOD 8-RIZAL, you really understand

our topic yesterday because all of you finish it
within minutes but I will still give plus points the
group who finish it first”

“What is PAR?”

(All students plotted the coordinates of PAR)

“VERY GOOD!”

“Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) It is an

area of the Earth's surface enclosing the Philippines,
Palau, Taiwan, and the northern tip of Borneo.”

C. MOTIVATION
Alright, let us play a game entitled
IDENTIFICTURES
(Random Recitation Method)
The teacher will flash two pictures or GIF with jumbled letters then the students will identify the
word. The teacher will call students from the class randomly.
If the student correctly identify what is being ask he or she will receive a chit with teacher’s
signature as extra points for their recitation.
WORDS: Landslide, typhoon, flood, lightning, weather.

“What can you say about our game?”

“Very enjoyable Ma’am and we are able to think
critically in those pictures being flashed in the
screen”

“Words that you have identified might be

encountered in our next lessons which are still
under typhoon entitled TRACKING
TROPICAL CYCLONES. “
D. LESSON PROPER
“Every year the Philippines is hit by
Typhoons, no part of the country is
spared. All provinces have been visited
by a typhoon at one time or another.”
“Can you please share your thoughts
when you hear the word typhoon?”

given 5 minutes to plot the coordinates and connect the plotted points.
3. Observe what the places where typhoon Ondoy hits are.
4. Each group will assign one representative to forecast the wind speed and the
direction of the Typhoon Ondoy.
