Demand Duo
Selection Guide

What information do I need?

The following information is required to select a Demand Duo system:
> Delivery temperature required. The available temperatures are 65°C, 70°C, 75°C & 80°C
> Incoming water temperature
> Volume of hot water used per event (i.e. people having a shower)
> Number of times this event occurs (i.e. 6 uses of each shower head per hour)
> Internal or external installation (i.e. whether a flue system is required)
A Demand Duo is selected based on the volume of water used per event
multiplied by the number of events that occur. This is calculated over a set period
of time which is usually one hour.
Example:
An amenities block with 16 showers requires hot water delivery at 40°C, there are tempering valves fitted so
the hot water plant delivery temperature required is 65°C. Each outlet is fitted with a 3 star (AAA) shower rose.
1. Calculate the number litres used per shower = 6 mins x 4 litres Room number
of hot water = 20 litres
2. Calculate the number of times the event occurs = 6 showers in an hour x 16 amenities = 96 Number of
3. Now you can calculate the amount of hot water required in the 1st Hour: requirement as per
4. 96 shower events x 20 litres per event = 1920 litres in the 1st Hour various building
5. Resulting in the selection of DDF2 200 250
