SCARF

Different types of scarf

Net scarf-are ideal for making scarves. You will have to choose
fine and smooth net fabric like tulle instead of scratchy synthetic
nets. Trims like sequins, chains or laces can be added to the edges.

Silk scarf-is an expensive choice for scarves but they have a


luxurious aura. Hand-painted silk scarves are much in demand and
carry a premium usually simply known as cashmere, is a fiber
obtained from cashmere goats or pashmina goats and other types of
goat. It has been used to make yarn, textiles and clothing for
hundreds of years

Velvet scarf-is a heavy thick fabric with pile so using the whole
width of the fabric as a scarf is absolutely not a good idea. Thin
tube scarves in velvet are ideal.

Plaid scarf-is a type of woolen fabric with a tartan chequered pattern. It


is a great scarf to wear in winter.

A chequered scarf pattern- is one of the most sought after patterns


other than the tartan pattern for scarves worn by men. made of cotton
or silk, krama are more often than not brightly coloured in red and
white, blue and white or black and white, though more expensive silk
ones may be multicoloured and interwoven with gold thread.
A scarf with border contrast-Whatever fabric you use you can decorate it with contrasting fabric
stitched on the borders for a dramatic effect.

Crinkled scarf-or crushed fabric has a depth which makes it good for scarves of
solid colors. Add fringe trims for more texture.

Scarves with tassels - Tassels or pompoms are added along the scarf edge for
a colourful and interesting look.

1. Belt- is a flexible band or strap, and worn around the waist, that is usually of less
circumference than the hips underneath, preventing pants from falling.
 Material- typically made of leather or heavy cloth.

Different style of belts:

Buckle belt- This is a simple strap belt with a press on metal


buckle on one end of the belt. The material of strap maybe made in
leather or fabric or plastic. The buckles are usually made of an
alloy of zinc and aluminium with a special plating to give it a
shineor made of brass.

Metal belt- These are typically worn with formal dresses/ wedding
gowns. Some metal belts are fastened with chains or are made of
chains as such. Some are made of filigree silver or gold or gold
/silver plated metals

Corset style belt- belt that ties you up into a pencil thin figure
whatever shape you are. You pour yourself into this belt and is laced
up so tight that you will wish you were born thin or ate less – just like those Elizabethan ladies
who wore real corsets every day despite the excruciating pain and discomfort.

Braided belts- These are belts classified according to the way its strap is made – by braiding
different pieces/strands of fabric or leather

Hip belt-This refers to low lying belts worn loosely draping over the hips . They are
typically worn by Asian brides over their wedding dress – also called hip chains

cinch belt- is a tight fitting belt made of elastic / leather /


stretchy fabric to encircle the waist tightly to make it look
really small. It is fastened with a fancy buckle / clasp or
laced-up. This belt can give you an hourglass figure by
thinning the waist. It is not worn inside the belt loops but
over it. They are usually one size fits all from waist sizes of
24- 48, because of its stretching property.

Handheld fan-or simply hand fan, may be any broad, flat surface that is waved back-and-forth to
create an airflow.

Materials- made of a thin material (such as paper or feathers) mounted on slats which
revolve around a pivot so that it can be closed when not in use.

subcontinent,which are usually made of metal, wood, glass, or plastic.

Engagement ring- is a ring indicating that person wearing its id engaged


to be married, especially in western cultures..

Brooch- is a decorative jewelry item designed to be attached to garments, often to hold


them closed.
