What does a citywide parking ban mean?
 ZONE A No parking downtown on
both sides of ALL streets within the
area bounded by Howe Street, Tower
Parkway, Grove Street, State Street,
and Martin Luther King Boulevard,
formerly known as North Frontage
Road.
 ZONE B No parking on either side of
ALL posted snow routes, as well as no
parking within 25 feet of any
intersection, fire hydrant or bus stop.
 ZONE C In residential areas, no
parking is allowed on the odd side of
the street.
What if blue lights are flashing?
A snow emergency parking ban has been
announced. Please call 203-946-7669 for
parking ban information.
Where can I park during a parking ban?
In identified school parking lots. Off street
parking garages downtown remain open
during snow emergencies. Residents are
encouraged to use these facilities as an
alternative to parking on the street. The
Temple Street Garage and the College Street
Garage will be available throughout the ban
for a subsidized price of $3 per day. Granite
Square Garage is free and available until full.
What if I am in violation of the parking ban?
Cars parking in violation of the parking ban
are subject to being ticketed and/or towed.
