Final Paper

As we come to the end of the class, looking back to what I have studied and embraced this semester,
resuming my learning experience to a few bullet points does not make justice to such a great class. Having
said this, I will proceed to mention the three most important things I have learned in this class:

1. The importance of developing soft skills in my career: Coming from Chile, and having attended
school there, it is fascinating to see this class being imparted. I cannot stop but think how needed
this class is to all those in executive levels, as corruption and bad practices have caused a huge
damaged to the country. Hence, being honest, responsible, having high values and standards is
something this class has taught that must always be part of my professional profile.
2. Treating everybody with respect: Seeing people through the glass of respect will allow me to learn
from them, acquire new knowledge regardless of their circumstances and pay more attention to
what they have to tell me.
3. Make the Savior my guide even in my professional life: It is clear and self-evident that the ultimate
step to becoming a great leader is to have Jesus Christ as my leader, follow Him and emulating
His actions. By extension, I will also pay attention to all those who work associated with Him, like
the Prophets and Apostles, especially modern ones, as their lives are amazing examples in this
dispensation.

Through this course I was able to identify three leadership strengths I have:

1. I can be sincere without being rejected: Most of the time, people are afraid of being honest, open
and sincere and talk from their heart, worried about how others will receive their comments.
Because of this, they find a hard time trying to give feedback or speak up. I do not have that
problem. I can phrase my thoughts in a way they are always welcome.
2. I tend to be a friend to anybody: I always do my best in being charismatic to all those around me.
3. I love serving others: Whenever I see a situation or someone who needs me to step in, I do it.

My three weaknesses are

1. I tend to joke too much: Because of this, people think I do not take them seriously
2. I treat things too lightly: Things that do not look highly important, I am inclined to disregard them.
3. Too much confidence: Many times, I feel I can do things I really cannot do or are harder than I
thought.

I will plan to ask for feedback from all those who surround me, especially those who are with me daily,
demanding sincere comments. This will allow me to see the areas I need to work on and have not been
able to identify yet. Finally, if I do not do these, it would be extremely hard to achieve the changes I need
to make.
