3. On 11/13, Mitsubishi has projected that its revenue will be reduced by half this
year(compared with last year’s), due by and large to the formal Chief Executive of
Renault Nissan Mitsubishi: Carlos Ghosn’s behaviour in the company that has happened
over recent years. Discuss to what extent was it related to Organizational Behaviour and
how does the study of OB might have prevented the adverse event from happening to

a. According to the media, it appears that Donald Trump may be in gross violation of
quid pro quo with the Ukraine which is an Impeachable Offense. In investigating his
competitors Joe Biden and Son. Discuss how does Trump’s behavior relates to OB
concepts or practice, such as cultural practice in Asia societies. .(25%)
b. How does OB study help us understand or evaluate Donald Trump’s

SOLUTION

1. Organizational Behavior (OB) is a study that discuss about how to manage and treat
many different behaviors of individual, so it makes organization more effective. This
study also discusses about how the impact to organizational. In OB, there are some core
topics, they are: motivation, leader behavior and power, interpersonal communication,
group structure and processes, attitude development and perception, change process,
conflict and negotiation, and work design. OB can help managers to develop people
skills with the knowledge that understanding human behavior provides. OB is
concerned in employment-related situation, it examines behavior in the context of job
satisfaction, absenteeism, employment turnover, productivity, human performance, and
management. Based on the context, there are some factor that has relation to increasing
revenue. The first one is about effectiveness, if the manager can manage the people skill
and know how to maximum their potential it can make a profit for the company, for
example the employee have ETPN personality (Textbook, page 79), they are
innovative, analytical, flexible, and versatile, so the manager can treat this person for
group project to make new product or make a strategy to sale product based on analyze
market. So, it can make a revenue of the company can be increase. Besides, If the
manager can make his employee have a high score of job satisfaction, the employee
will be happy workers and to be productive workers. Individual who feel comfortable
with environment of the company, they will get Organizational Citizen Behavior (OCB)
and they will do more than their usual job duties and provide performance beyond
expectation (Textbook, page 55). Secondly is about employment turnover. If the
manager can make the employee has the high score of job satisfaction, it will be
decrease negative attitude (looking another job), job dissatisfaction (textbook, page 56),
and dissonance (Textbook, page 48). So, the employment turnover also be decrease. As
we know that if the company need to recruit new employee, they need more cost to do
that. So, if the manager can manage their human capital so well, it will not incur any
additional cost.

3. I think Carlos Ghosn think that he didn’t do wrong thing because the decision already
discussed and get some considerate by all of the Nissan’s employee, so he was
defended. He thinks that he just does the best to rescued the company, and not doing
wrong thing. I think he need to maximum the skill of the employee to solve the problem,
do some innovation, creativity to increase the revenue. Treat the employee well and get
the best performance from them. He must change the behaviour of the company and
get more comfortable for the employee so he will get the best workers and get
effectiveness and efficiency.
4. Based on the material in Textbook, there are some factor that can motivated to engage
in working performance. I think the factor are:
a. Opportunities to growth
I think for people that have minim experience; they will be looking for new
experience to improve their self. And the company that give them changes to

get challenge so, they can apply their creativity and knowledge and will be
satisfied with their job, and then they can give the best to work.
b. The environment of the company (Textbook, page 55)
It is important thing to make employee happy. Individual who feel comfortable
with their job and their co-worker who support them are also likely to engage.
c. Fulfilments of Needs (Textbook, page 79)
There are 5 needs (Hierarchy of needs), they are physiological, safety-security,
social-belongingness, esteem, self-actualization. If the company can cover all
the component of hierarchy need, I think they will be engaged in work
performance and give the best performance, because they think that the
company already gave what they need.
5. Part:
a. I think that Donal trump has low score for emotional stability and he also has
narcissism. He gets more easier to get angry, he should have to check the truth
before they make a statement. And he always thinks that he was right, he never
listens other people. And in Asia, especially in Indonesia (as I know) we are
adopt democracy, that we always appreciate another argument and make the
best decision from all of the argument, and it will be decrease conflict because
it is already discussed by all of the people.
b. OB, it studies about the dark triad, they are 3 other socially undesirable traits,
they are Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy. I think that Donald
trump has high score of narcissism, he has a grandiose sense of self-importance,
requires excessive admiration and is arrogant. He has a tendency to exploit
situations and people, lack of empathy and he can dislike the people who didn’t
agree with him. And this is the bad leader for me, because he didn’t want to hear
about another argument, he thinks that he always right. Although that a good
leader will listen what the employee/member argue and make a best decision
for that.
