MOTIVATION LETTER

“Get to know about something first before you can love it better”, maybe that is one
of the idioms we can choose right now. It is good if you know me before you judge me. My
name is Miftah Ihza Ainul Yaqin, and all people dressed me either Miftah or Ihza. I am 19
years old and I will get my 20 in October later. I am from Mojokerto, East Java, one of the
tiniest cities in Indonesia, which has a lot of the ancient places there. I have graduated from
Islamic Senior High School in Mojokerto City, or Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Kota Mojokerto,
majoring in natural science in 2017 ago.

One of the most controversial decisions that I made was taking gap years until now. In
2017 ago, I had experienced taking a job as an English tutor in Kampung Inggris Pare for 6
months. In 2018 ago, I have accepted into one of the top universities in Indonesia, but I am
not continuing my studies there since 2nd semesters, because of my economics crisis. It made
me take a decision, so I back again to take a job until now with a lot of the institution I had
worked. Sometimes life has to be like a salmon, against the water to get their life in peace.
And I am proud because I can survive my life to get my life in peace. Did I get it? Not yet, I
still against the water.

When I was a student in a college, I have followed a lot of events such as seminar,
competition, and many more. Also, I joined in a lot of organizations extra-campus such as
Sahabat Beasiswa, Bina Antarbudaya and also Young on Top. Which are focused on various
things, and I get the various position there. Sahabat Beasiswa, I got my position in
Coordinator of Public Relations, which my job was coordinating my members to handle the
collaboration with another firm or organization with the communication and some documents.
Bina Antarbudaya, I got my position in Coordinator of Volunteer Development, in which my
job was coordinating the volunteers in the AFS Intercultural Program’s events. Young on Top,
I got my position in Coordinator of Event, which my job was to make the event or project
succeed. And each organization that I handled still active until right now.

If you ask me what my motivation to join this program, I will answer that with the
existence of this program, I will get opportunity and can enlarge my relations, my work
prospects, find the new environment, friend and it is challenging me to survive in new things
because I love to learn new things. I feel different from others and I am proud, why? Because
of experience, surviving in solving life’s problems is the key. It makes me become a strong
person. I want to join this program according to what I have to do, and I will develop it in my
way. My expectation to join in this program that I can develop my personality more better
than before.
