“Jingle Making Contest”

Mechanics and Guidelines

1. The contest is open to all students, faculty and staff of De La Salle Lipa.
2. The jingle must be an original composition and must not have been
used as entry in any song competitions.
3. The content of the jingle must be lively, appealing, creative
and must highlight the 55th Foundation Week Celebration theme:
"DLSL @55th: Soar Beyond"
4. The use of offensive and rude words is strictly prohibited.
5. Any musical instrument can be used as accompaniment at the
composer’s discretion.
6. The jingle must be in mp3 format and must be submitted in CD.
The duration of the jingle entry must be less than 3 minutes
and a maximum of 5 minutes.

7. Introduction and explanation of the song as part of the entry

is not necessary.
8. All entries must be placed inside a brown envelope with name at the
back to include the following information:
Properly labelled CD with the track title, composer/performer’s name
and contact information; lyrics of the song typewritten or printed
legibly in a legal size bond paper. Missing lyric sheet may be considered
a ground for disqualification of the entry. Deadline of submission is
on or before January 9, 2018 at IS-SAO c/o Ms. Jo Rosos or
College SAO c/o Mr. Protacio Mea.

9. The following criteria shall be used in judging:

COMPOSITION - 50%
(catchy melody, lively music, rhythm and recall)

RELEVANCE TO THE THEME - 20%

LYRIC CONTENT - 15%

(originality, clarity of message, language and phrasing)

CREATIVITY - 15%
(use of structure, instruments and vocals)

APPEAL/IMPACT - 10%

10. Final Judging shall be made after the deadline of submission

of all entries. The committee shall have the exclusive rights to the
winning entry, thus, this cannot be submitted to any other
competition. Likewise, the committee reserves the right to further
refine or make improvements on the final work of the winning entry.
11. The winning piece will be used as the official jingle o
the 55th Foundation Week Celebration and will also be aired during
the promotional campaigns of De La Salle Lipa. The winner shall
receive a certificate and seven thousand pesos (Ph7,000) during
the Opening Ceremony on February 14, 2018.
