FINANCIAL STABILITY AND TEACHING EFFECTIVENESS OF TEACHERS IN

THE DISTRICT OF HAMTIC SOUTH

Background of the Study

The development of every individual and society is dependent on the

effective teachers. Effective teachers are believed to be financially stable. They

can acquire all their teaching needs that will support them in delivering the

subject matter. They have the motivation to teach and can focus to their

effectiveness in teaching. They are not bothered by finding means on how to

support their needs as teachers. They have all learning materials and tools that

will help them to be effective in teaching.

At present, the salary of teachers despite of the integration of the last

tranche of salary increase is not enough to support their needs as teachers and

as breed winners of their family. They find it difficult to be effective if they are

bothered financially. They don’t have motivation to teach. This problem cause

teachers to loan from different institutions and even make them to have

business sidelines during class hours that surely hinder their effectiveness as

teachers.

It is for this reason that the researcher was motivated to conduct this

study to determine the effect of financial stability to the teaching effectiveness

of the teachers in the District of Hamtic South.


Statement of the Problem

This study aims to determine the relationship between financial stability

and teaching effectiveness of elementary school teachers in the District of

Hamtic South during the School Year 2019 – 2020.

Specifically, it will seek answer to the following questions:

1. What is the level of financial stability of teachers when taken as an

entire group and when they are categorized according to age, sex, length of

service and teaching position?

2. What is the level of teaching effectiveness of teachers when taken as

an entire group and when they are categorized according to age, sex, length of

service and teaching position?

3. Is there a significant difference in the level of financial stability of

teachers when they are categorized according to age, sex, length of service and

teaching position?

4. Is there a significant difference in the level of teaching effectiveness of

teachers when they are categorized according to age, sex, length of service and

teaching position?

5. Is there a significant relationship between the level of financial

stability and teaching effectiveness of teachers?
