2.7 FAQs
Q(1 ) I have installed M-Cubed 100 on my PC, now I want to upgrade MS-Access from
2003 to 2007, what should I do?
Ans: Install the driver of MS-Access 2010 from internet from the following URL: -
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=C06B8369-60DD-
4B64-A44B-84B371EDE16D&displaylang=en
Q(2) I am getting the following error message while installing M-Cubed 100. What is
the reason?
Ans: Try for the following solutions and then re-start the installation of M-Cubed 100.
Solution 1:
The error is often caused by firewall or anti-virus software running on the computer.
Steps to be followed:
1. First turn off the firewall and disable anti-virus software (like McAfee etc).
2. Go to the command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
3. Type in
msiexec /unregister (press enter)
msiexec /regserver (press enter)
4. Now try to re-install the program. (Without turning ON firewall or anti-virus programs)
If this setting does not resolve the Error, then go for Solution 2.
Solution 2:
Q (3) What is the reason of getting the following error window, when I try to install M-
Cubed 100 on my PC?
Ans: This type of error appears basically because of the following conditions occurring
together:
Any change in the M-Cubed 100 database is made. For example a new table is
added and so on.
You try to Install M-Cubed 100 on a PC having Windows 7 or higher version as an
OS.
You are not an Admin user and don’t have rights on C:\Program files
In the above mentioned conditions, an error message similar to one showed above is
displayed. To solve such problems, any of the following methods may work:
Option1: Run the program as an administrator
This can be done manually by right clicking the application and to select Run as
administrator. Those administrator rights can also be added by default, by right clicking the
shortcut to the application and to select Properties, tab Shortcut, Advanced button and to
activate the option Run as administrator.
Option 2: Troubleshoot Compatibility
To Use this feature:
1. Right-click the shortcut of the app that's not working properly, then click
Troubleshoot compatibility.
2. Windows will try to detect compatibility issues, and then give you two options: Try
recommended settings and Troubleshoot program. We recommend trying the first
option first; if it doesn't work, you can always return and try the second (which gives you
the choice of which previous version of Windows you want compatibility with).
3. After Windows applies the selected settings, click Start Program and see if that solves
the problem. Either way, click Next to have Windows apply the settings "permanently"
or try again with different settings.
Option 3: Virtual Store
In Windows 7 or higher versions, the folder C:\Program Files is secured. An application with
administrator rights can only modify the files. To solve this issue, a method is used named
‘virtualization of files’ i.e. files will be stored in the Virtual Store. The applications are not
aware of this virtualization, and thinks the files are stored on the same location.
Virtualization is done separately for every user. Program Files is one of the folders in
the Virtual Store, which contains the user specific settings for the applications. Files are
stored in C:\Users\<loginname>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore location. All users must
change the settings of the virtualized applications separately.
Q (4) The following error appears when I am trying to reset the keys of M-Cubed 100. What
is the reason?
Ans: This error message comes when there is a mismatch in customer code in old & new
product key. The solution is to un-install M-Cubed & re-install with new product key.
Q(5) What is the reason for scheduled reading not getting executed in Windows 7(64bit)?
Ans: In Windows 7, default setting of put the computer to sleep is 30 minutes. So application
using SQL server cannot establish connection with database when computer is in sleep mode.
To change this setting user has to go to Run->power options as shown in below screen
After that user has to go to change when the computer sleeps as shown below:
Note: The above mentioned point is not applicable for Windows 7(32bit).
Q(6) Sometimes while installing M-Cubed 100 you may get the following message indicating
failure of SQL Server Installation.?
Ans: This may be due to group policy settings or antivirus setting which stops some application
to be launch from TEMP Folder as M-Cubed 100 Setup extracts prerequisite installers to TEMP
folder during installation.
In this case you will have to install SQL Server manually, which is only a one time exercise for
the life time of the M-Cubed 100.
To overcome this condition please follow the below steps:
