A deluge system is a water mist system using open spray heads attached to a piping system that is connected to a
water supply through a valve that is opened by means of a detection system installed in the same area as the spray
Fire Protection for Marine & Offshore
heads. When the valve opens, water flows into the piping system and discharges through all spray heads attached to
the system. Deluge systems are typically used for the protection of machinery with flammable liquid fire hazard.
