Good morning to all of u my friends,

This very wonderful morning I am going to talk about our plan of setting up a cold storage facility in the
interior of Maharashtra.

Before going into our business plan let me share with you some real but overlooked figures in the
current fast moving India which impelled us to take this industry as our dream project.

As per the report of Ministry of Food Processing Industries India is the second largest producer of fruits
and vegetables in the world for the year 2010-11.

It is also important to note that as per the Report of National Horticulture Board, horticulture
contribute about 28% of country’s agricultural GDP.

Talk about the wastage………

Keeping all this in mind government in their budget of 2011-12 considered this as part of infrastructure
and which has made it as a priority sector for bank for lending purpose & subsequently the government
opened the door for 100% foreign direct investment in this sector.

The next question which I am going to answer is why we have selected Cold Storage Business as our
dream project?

India has roughly 5,300 cold storages with a capacity of 23 million metric tonne, over 90 percent
of which are suitable just for storing potatoes only.

As we all know India is second largest producer of fruits and vegetables in the world, despite this our
contribution to world market is 1% contrast to china which contribute 20%, you will also surprise to
know that 40% of fruits and vegetables gets wasted which are enough to feed countries like Brazil and
Vietnam. This is the core reason for wide fluctuation in the prices of fruits and vegetables.

India contribute nearly 17% of global milk production, however out of this 10% of annual milk
production is lost because of inadequate storage facility.

In our country only less than 2 per cent of the fruits and vegetables produced are processed as against
65 per cent in the US and 70 per cent in Brazil, as per farm ministry estimates and there is high growth
prospects for the food processing sector along with attractive government incentives (including 51 per
cent FDI) make cold chain business a lucrative proposition for foreign investors as well.

There is tremendous pressure on improving supply chain and reducing the wastage. This project will
further aim at storing fruits & vegetables even during off-seasons. The project will ultimately assist the
clientele in maintaining market price equilibrium throughout the year for fruits and vegetables.

As per the comments made by Director of Gati Ltd. India’s cold storage business is currently valued at
Rs.12,000 cr. Which is projected to touch Rs.30,000 cr by 2020.
Cold storage can extend the shelf life of produce – and can reduce the price volatility. it helps stabilize
prices over time, which is one of the reasons produce prices in developed countries are less volatile than
those in developing countries.
