Subject: BSP 7.0 MT MODEX -PKG 077-01A : Balance Work for External Water System of SMS-III: Logging of Slurry Water

Dear Sir,

It is brought to our notice by BSP, Bhilai that Slurry water is logging under the thickener structure. Please be informed that while flushing of
the underflow pipe process, slurry water gets spread and accumulated on the thickener grade slab. This is posing severe operational
difficulties apart from safety of underflow pumpsets and other equipment installed underneath.

This problem could be mitigated to some extent if provision of proper slope for channeling the accumulated water to nearby drain / pit and its
evacuation would had been provided.

Further Slurry water logging in filter press building is also observed in the ground floor. Operational difficulties are being faced due to water
logging/accumulation in areas where filtrate and other related pumps of filter press are installed. Water logging results from seal water and
gland leakage of other pumps and due to non-availability of proper drain in the said area.

We request M/s L&T to look into the problem raised by BSP and take necessary action under intimation to us.

Looking forward for visit of concerned person of M/s L&T to site for necessary action.
