LEVEL 3 EXTENDED DIPLOMA

Unit 5: Investigating audio production and technology

Sarah Wilson; Adam Jones; James Ashford

Date Issued: Monday 6th January 2020
Final Deadline: Friday 31st January 2020
Brief

There will be a small commissioning round for the 14.15 Drama (after The
Archers) to transmit in March 2020. Around 15 five-minute episodes will be
available. The BBC will be looking to commission very distinctive single
dramas exploring a range of issues of interest to 16-25 year-olds. The dramas
will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 4
Extra before the watershed.
Guidelines

The BBC is an equal opportunity employer and seeks

to ensure that all the producers we work with take
seriously their responsibilities with regard to equal
opportunities and, in addition, health and safety
during the course of commissions. The BBC therefore
requires that all independent producers comply with
all current equality, anti-discrimination and health and safety legislation and
their respective codes of practice. The BBC may request a written statement
of independent producers’ own equality, diversity, inclusion and health and
safety policies and relevant details of how the policy is implemented in
practice. The BBC expect all producers to apply the highest professional and
ethical standards. Producers and commissioners must ensure they are
working with a mix of on and off air talent that seeks to reflect the diversity of
the UK’s nations and regions and the range of voices, perspectives and
experiences from all groups in the country. They should discuss with their
teams what positive steps can be taken to help the BBC meet its diversity and
inclusion targets as laid out in the BBC Diversity and inclusion strategy, and
how they might reflect different perspectives and experiences in content.
