The Rise of Artificial Intelligence.

INTRODUCTION
Humans have always been addressed as the most complex, intelligent
and advanced species on this planet. They have an astounding ability to
think, analyze, debate and respond accordingly to any circumstances. This
ability granted us a boon- Innovation.
Even when human beings were themselves understanding and adapting
to their surroundings, they created unique inventions, which helped them
estabilish themselves as the dominant species of this planet. From fire to
agriculture, wheels to firearms, Computers to Smartphones. We humans
are just getting better.
Our biggest achievement, however, has its roots in the year 1955, when
humans first developed what we call today, Artificial Intelligence.
Artificial intelligences refers to any device that perceives, analyses and
responds to its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance
of successfully achieving its goals. AI and Automation are the two sides of
the same coin. Humans have finally become capable enough to reproduce
the ability to think independantly and bestow this ability to computers.
We are entering a new age of Artificial Intelligence, unlike anything that's
come before.

AI- a revolutionary
innovation
HOW SMART IS AI?
In this information age, we are constantly exploring newer and better
ways to empower our computers. The above mentioned question can be
answered in the affirmative. Today, AI is crossing all boundaries of
intelligence. We can prove this by showing certain examples:

1. Artificial Intelligence Synthesized Chess

AI has the ability to learn on its own, and that too in a very less amount
of time. The most prominent example of this being is AI Chess.
Famous company Deep mind has developed Alphazero, a powerful
Aritificial Intelligence software which has shown its prowess already,
Mastering the difficult and skillfull game of chess in barely four hours. It
has the wonderful ability to calculate more than 80,000 moves well in
advance.

Computer programs have been able to beat the best human

chess players ever since IBM's Deep Blue supercomputer defeated Chess
legend Garry Kasparov on 12 May 1997
And to his historic defeat, this was what he said-
“The day machines would beat the strongest human player had to be the dawn of AI.
The machine that would succeed had
to be intelligent,”
2. Artificial Intellience in Disaster Management.
AI can be said to be the most efficient and trustworthy medium to ensure
safety of the people. From AI recognition system to AI disaster
management.
A news of Italy, where scientists and seismologists were fired because
they couldn’t predict an incoming earthquake made headlines. Since
then, Artificial Intelligence systems have been used, to detect even a
slightest change in the Geologic or weather patters.

AI easily recognizes and differentiates between a normal observance of

the tectonic plates or a hazardious seismic shift/ earthquake. AI softwares
can automatically send ‘alert messages’ and important ‘news updates’ in
case of a disaster.
Around 200 disasters were avoided the last year, with the help of
Artificial intelligence, proving how errorless and efficient they were.
3. Fill in something
4. Use of AI in phones and computers
The massive success and rise of AI happened when they were introduced
in Mobiles and Computers.
‘Siri’ an artificial software induced in the popular Apple Iphone series shot
to fame when it introduced AI to the common mass. Soon, Microsoft’s
Cortana, Google’s Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa followed
pursuit. Such AI softwares can answer any question, personal or
professional in pretty human-like manne. Sometimes answering in quirky
one-liners, motivational advises or the best search results from the vast
internet.

The use of AI has even evolved into the cinema industry. Popular fictional
character ‘Iron man’s side-kick ain’t a human, its a AI powered software
called Jarvis.
Many mobile and video games use AI instead of pre-defined codes, where
the self- exploring, self- working software advances as the gamer wants.
In a nutshell, AI can easily be touted smarter than the Human
 They can be replicated instantly and for free.
 They have the ability to get better fast. There are actual real-world
examples of how this transition might be happening.
 AI are quick and effiecient with their work and make much fewer
mistakes.
 They have the ability to learn on their own and don’t rely on human
knowledge.
ADVANCED ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Today, AI is reaching its pinnacle. When highly developed AI is used to

operate Robots, magic happens
Robots, powered with artificial intelligence have the ability to display
human emotions and facial expressions, While also displaying better
efficiency and intelligence. Advanced robots can themslevs hear and
respond-to differnet means of comunication. Robots like Sophia can
laugh at jokes, nod at a speeches and get aggresive at a disgraceful
comment

In a few years, the difference between humans and robots can be quite
unnoticiable. The prime examples being robots like Sophia and bina 48.

such smart robots can work in the army,

medecine industry, Banking and all fields
which require zero errors.
NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF AI.
AI gives robots the ability to think, reason and analyze. This ability was
also provided to humans, and this ability led to the formation of another,
valuable ability- The ability to question.
It was the ability to question that formed the basis of scientific
advancements. What makes a stone fall back to the earth? Why do we
slip on tiles?
But what would happen when AI developes the ability to question?
If an AI software became completely self aware, it could very well ask for
freedom from human control. A species smarter, faster, stronger and
better than humans could prove to be a heavy compition.
Recently, Sophia, the AI humanoid was given citizenship by Saudi Arabia.
Could this mean that AI Robots could even get rights?
A very infamous term which is rising fear in the common mass is
Singularity. This hypothesis states that the invention of artificial
superintelligence (ASI) will abruptly trigger technological growthand
automated self-improvement cycles resulting in unfathomable changes to
human civilization.
Another serious issue is ‘unemployment’
While new information age industries are booming, they are creating
fewer and fewer new jobs. In 1979, General Motors employed more than
800,000 workers and made about $11 billion US dollars. In 2012, Google
made about $14 billion US dollars while employing 58,000 people.
Today, AI can land aircrafts, treat cancer and trade stocks. Most machines
are capable doing repetitive laborous works. This is what destroys factory
jobs. According to a 2013 study, almost half of all jobs in the world could
potentially be automated in the next two decades.
THE FUTURE OF AI
Even with some shortcomings, the future of AI looks bright.
In the near future, AI could teach students through virtual media,
Replace most of the Umpires, models and Telemarketeers. Self Driving
cars which work through AI could finnalt become a reality. AI could finally
take over the secondary and tertiary jobs.
Artificial ntelligence could also help in Space exploration and research.
Even petite machines, like our toasters, could be AI-ed, As they moniter
over our choice of Bread, health and new toast recipes.
In the Information Age,modern automation and Artificial Intelliegence
could be a huge opportunity to change human society, and reduce
poverty and inequality drastically.
It could be a seminal moment in human history.
We need to think big, and fast.
Because one thing's for sure, the machines are not coming;
They are already here.
