Pornography: Legal or Illegal?

Introduction
Pornography has become one of this
nation’s major industries. More and more
people are getting into the industry for the
love of the money. Nevertheless, more
Americans are purchasing pornography more
than ever. With technology being so
advanced, pornography has become more
easily accessible to people. In this project, I
will looking at two variables, ATTEND24
and PORNLAW.

This graph looks at how SEX affects
PORNLAW. 29.9% of male respondents are in
favor of having pornography illegal to
everyone compared to 47.8% of female
respondents who are in the same thing. On the
other hand, I was surprised about the results
porn being illegal to people under 18. Male
respondents reported 63.9% in favor of this
while 48.2% of female respondents were in
favor of having porn illegal to people under 18.
I was surprised to see this because I thought
more females would be in support of this than
men would.

This graph looks at ATTEND24 affects PORNLAW.
People who attend church often reported 60.2% in favor
of having pornography illegal to all. People who attend
church infrequently reported 28.0% that was in favor of
having pornography illegal to everyone. Only 3% of the
respondents who attend church often were in favor of
having pornography legal for everyone compared to
6.2% of infrequently respondents.

This graph looks at the same information from Graph
2, but with a control variable; SEX. For male
respondents, 52.3% of those who attend religious
services often reported they want pornography illegal for
everyone compared to 20.8% of those who are infrequent
attendees. For female respondents, 64.8% of respondents
who attend religious services often are in favor of having
pornography illegal compared to 35.6% of respondents
who are infrequent attendees.
Conclusion
Pornography is a topic that needs to be dealt
with. I was very surprised about the different
results that I saw when I ran this report.
Looking at Graph 3, I was more surprised
about the male responses because I did not
expect them to be so high, but if you believe
and attend religious services often, your views
about certain things can change. Although there
maybe a lot of people watching porn, there are
a lot who are against it as well.
