Shape Neck and Armhole
(RS) Decrease 1 st at Neck edge this
row, every other row 8 (7, 9, 8) times,
then every 4 rows 2 (3, 3, 4) times and
AT THE SAME TIME, shape Armhole
as for BACK – 13 (15, 16, 19) sts
remain when all shaping is complete.
Work even until Armhole measures
same as for BACK. Place remaining
sts on holder for shoulders.
RIGHT FRONT
Work as for LEFT FRONT, reversing
all shaping.
SLEEVES
Cast on 42 sts; begin k2, p2 rib, end
k2. Work even until piece measures 6"
from beginning, end with a WS row.
(RS) Change to St st; work even until
piece measures 3", end with a WS row.
Shape Sleeve
(RS) Increase 1 st each side this row,
then every 6th (4th, 2nd, 2nd) row 1

Shape Cap
(RS) Bind off 4 (5, 5, 6) sts at

COLLAR

Shape Collar
(RS) Decrease 1 st each side this row,
then every 4th row 5 times – 86 (92,
98, 104) sts remain. Work even until
piece measures 5½" from beginning,
end with a WS row.
FINISHING
Block pieces to measurements. Join
shoulders using Three-Needle Bind-
Off. Set in SLEEVES; sew side and
SLEEVE seams. With RS of COLLAR
and WS of garment facing, sew bound-
off edge of COLLAR to Neck shaping,
being careful not to let seam show on
WS of garment. Weave in ends.
Left Front Edging
With RS facing, using crochet hook,
join yarn at lower left edge, chain 1,
working from left to right, reverse
single crochet evenly along FRONT
edge to top edge of COLLAR. Fasten
off.
Right Front Edging
Work as for Left Front Edging,
beginning at top edge of COLLAR.
Sew one half of snap to RS of Left
FRONT, just in from front edge, 3/4"
above end of ribbing; sew remaining
half opposite first half. Thread elastic
cord through top row of ribbing, being
careful not to let cord show on RS. Tie
bow in one end of cord. Adjust fit; tie
bow in opposite end of cord.

3-NEEDLE BIND OFF:

(Seaming 2 pieces together as
you bind off)

Place sts of pieces to be joined on

separate needles or on each end
of a circular needle. Hold one
behind the other with RS’s facing
each other in left hand. With a
third needle of the same size (or 1
size larger than that used to knit
the pieces), k2tog [1 from front
needle, 1 from back needle – 1 st
on right-hand needle], * k2tog [2
sts on right-hand needle], bind off
1 st in usual manner; repeat from
* to end. For a decorative seam
on RS, work as above with WS’s
facing.
