WELCOME ADDRESS

Class Vice President for Social Affairs

Shayne Angelyka Tangonan

Distinguished guest, honorable principal, respected faculty and staff, beloved parents, fellow
graduates, juniors, ladies and gentlemen a pleasant afternoon to all.

This nostalgic event will mark our life’s history. It is a start of a new beginning rather than the
end of our journey. Yes, six (6) years of elementary education is not a simple journey since this
is the very foundation and the beginning of our success.

As we start the formal confirmation of our efforts in the past six years, we have learned and
experienced lots of challenges along our way. However, to become much better than
yesteryears, we have to face and go through the realities of life while we exert an extra mile of
effort to achieve our goals. This shows that it is impossible to understand joy, until we face
sorrow. Faith, until we tested. Peace, until faced with conflict. Trust until we are betrayed. Love,
until it is lost. Hope, until confronted with doubts.

These are the future challenges which are surely to come our way as we develop the talents
entrusted to each of us. Unless we master’s life’s great lesson from these experiences, we will
never become a winner as we were born to be. By these approach, we can be assured of a
better life as compared to yesteryears.

At this juncture, we would like to express our profound gratitude to all of you by joining us in
witnessing the beginning of our success. To our beloved parents, who supported us morally and
financially; to our faculty and staff who help us hone our talents and skills; to our colleagues
who serve as our inspiration all throughout the endeavors in the past six years; in behalf of my
fellow graduates and the class officers of the graduating class, I welcome you all.
TRIBUTE TO TEACHERS
Class Secretary
Rica Mae Villacampa

A pleasant good afternoon to everyone. It is a great honor to stand before you today and give
tribute to our beloved teachers who have touch and changed the curse of our lives.

Today, in this very occasion, it is the opportune time to immortalize and give them the long
overdue recognition, honor and respect they truly deserve.

They say that being a teacher is a vocation. A profession that is underpaid yet demands long
hours of work that goes beyond limitations. Their work doesn’t stop at school. It continues even
at home, competing with family obligations and responsibilities. Indeed, an exhausting job.
Imagine doing the same thing five days a week, twenty days a month, and ten months in a year.
No other profession can do the same thing that teacher can do. Only you, our teachers, can
provide that kind of service without expecting extra pay in return.

Through all my years of study, I have come to realize that teachers play multiple roles in the
school which makes them unique among other professionals. Just to mention a few, teachers
are facilitators of knowledge. Teachers make sure that a perfect climate to study, learning and
growing is achieved. Teachers are exemplary role models. They also act as our surrogate
parents, encouraging, motivating and comforting us during times our body, mind and emotions
are weak.

Now I believe that being a teacher is the greatest profession of all. It is a vocation, a calling from
God.

For sure, they are not super human beings. They, too, have their share of ups and downs. But
through it all we haven’t seen them bring their “down moments” to school. They believe that
personal problems should not interfere in transforming us into good and able citizens of
tomorrow. In their hands are potential leaders of this country which cannot be affected nor
delayed even in the midst of their hardship and trials.

As we all give our warmest thanks to our teachers for a job well done, here is a quotation from
Donna Fargo:

Thank you for answering the call to be a teacher. Thank you for the enduring impression you’ve
made in the lives you have touched. Every community needs someone like you. Your
contributions are immeasurable. Your lessons are permanent. I only wish there were more
teacher’s like you. You improve our world. You are so important.

Finally, may I request everyone to please stand up and give a big round of applause to all our
beloved teacher’s.

Thank you very much and God bless us all.

TRIBUTE TO PARENTS
Class Vice President for Religious Affairs
Raymond Angelou Maligang

Distinguished guest, honorable principal, fellow graduates, juniors, beloved parents, respected
faculty and staff a pleasant afternoon to all of us.

Six years of undisputed, astonishing fail proof studying that is more weighted than money has
born fruit. We would never be here today, in this graduation exercises, if not for your ever
present help. How time flies without really noticing it, now we are in the threshold of another
phase in our education.

How could we forget your unfailing love only measured by your selfless sacrifice that you
offered to us. Through the obstacles of life, through failures and disappointments, your lo0ve
never wavered, never changed. We remembered when we were younger and we used to
stumble and fall, you helped us stand and encouraged us to walk again. Now we are not afraid
to try and fail until we learn from our mistakes because no matter how many times we fall, you,
our parents have always been ready to help us get back on our feet and walk with us in the
path God has destined for us. Now it’s time to say THANK YOU.

To our parents, thank you for being our blanket to keep us warm when the cold winds of trials
blows our way. Thank you for teaching us right from wrong. Thank you for giving us a good
Christian education wherein we have come to know Christ. Thank you for being God’s precious
gift to us.

To our guardians, thank you for being our second parents. You welcomed us into your homes
truly making it a home away from home. You treated us like your own children, giving us the
much needed refuge from the many conflicts of our growing up years.

From timid and shy children entering the first grade, we have metamorphosed into young
butterflies, ready and eager to explore because like a jeweler, who continues to cut, shape and
polished a precious stone, you have encouraged, motivated, believed in us and sometimes
disciplined us. But most of all, you love us unconditionally.

Now, may I request my fellow graduates to please rise and give our precious tokens to our
beloved parents and guardians. We are aware that this tokens of love and appreciation are so
inadequate compared to giving us the opportunity to spread our wings and fly to the far
beyond.
RESPONSE
Class Pastor
Glyzel Rios

Thank you for the challenge Madam;

Distinguished guest, kind and caring teachers, school administrators, wonderful parents and
guardians, fellow graduates, juniors, friends, ladies and gentlemen a pleasant afternoon to
everyone.

I feel honored to stand and give the response. As our aim and motto, we the graduating class
will, by God’s grace strive for the better. Stronger than yesteryears.

Ironically, we hope and pray that not one of us will change. Let me say we will not change
because, we, the graduating class of 2017 are hoping and praying that will remain obedient
sons and daughters but stronger and faithful children of God.

In the years to come we will be successful professionals and by that time, our dear “nanay and
tatay”, “lolos and lolas” together with our relatives and teachers will be very proud by then
because, we have heeded to one of our favorite verses of the Holy Book, in the 20th chapter of
Exodus, verse 12 where it says “Honor your father and mother, so that you may live long in the
land the Lord your God is giving you.

Yes, that was God’s promise; our Heavenly and Almighty Father promised to give us long and
prosperous lives and that is if and only if we follow His command in loving obedience and
faithfulness.

We, the graduating class of 2017 will strive for the better. Better not because we did not learn
enough in our elementary years but because in the course of challenges we will be facing from
today on and in the years to come are more learning processes that we learned from the last six
years are our foundation for stronger pillars towards achieving our goals.

We are like butterflies. We are loved and cared by our dear parents and teachers while in our
cocoons, but sooner or later we have to take care of ourselves and strive to get out of our
cocoons and emerge as wonderful butterflies flying high with our beautiful colors of
achievements but not forgetting to share our blessings. Sharing and distributing from one
flower to another flower the blessings we are gaining. Not forgetting that as we are getting
stronger and being blest by our wonderful Creator and God, we too, will not forget blessing
others around us. Like those butterflies, we will be blessing the people who are watching how
we live our lives. We, the product of Palawan Adventist Elementary school will live our lives
based on the bible principles that we have been taught – living the life of our dear Savior Jesus
Christ, humbly enjoying our achievements, willingly sharing our blessings and serving others.

Emerging to be strong butterflies soaring high, giving glory to its gracious Creator and giving joy
to their spectators but not forgetting to fly low and touch other’s lives with what they have to
share and serve.

Again let me say, these things will not come to fruition if not for the loving and caring parents
and teachers and most especially to our unchanging God whom the glory be forever and ever.
To all of you, please accept our heartfelt gratitude, our one big thank you very, very much.
Again I say, “Maraming, maraming slamat po!
FAREWELL ADDRESS
Class President
Mar Gershom G. Nocal

Distinguished guest, members of the school board, energetic faculty and staff, dear parents,
ladies and gentlemen.

At last we have come to this very memorable event of our life. Laughter, tears as well as
allowances have now temporarily perished. We now have the DIPLOMA which serves as a proof
of overcoming all the hardships during our elementary years. We can say to the world, “We are
worthy to receive this.”

Diligence, perseverance, honesty, patriotism, self-reliance are indeed valuable factors of

education, and therefore, as graduates from this institution we need to have these in our hearts
and must be inculcated in our minds because we need them throughout our lives. As we change
our lifestyle gradually and “achieve the better quality of life,” we must be assets not liabilities
to our families, our respective communities and to our country as well.

During the days of our stress and fear when our nation seems to moving into a diverse and
fragmented society it is you and I, the youth of the land who must help in the frantic task of
nation building. Sad to say, permissiveness, influence of western thought, the waywardness of
the young is contributing to the decadence of our society.

Who, then, can make the difference? We, the graduates from a Christian institution who always
uphold, glorify and honor the name of the Creator in everything that we do, can make the
difference. As we go on with our educational quest, wherever we are, we have the splendid
opportunity to lead the way.

It is sad to say goodbye. But we need to leave the portals of our alma mater. Farewell to you
dear Alma Mater. We will assure you that you’ll always be remembered. We will remember
that each of us comes from an Adventist Christian institution.

To our energetic school board members – thank you for your unending support. Although we
don’t see you often, we know that you all are behind this success. You have brought us this far.
To our loving, understanding teachers – we salute you. You spend more than the required
hours in your teaching so that you could bond with us and encourage us to study harder. In
spite of our childish ways, you have carried yourselves as true Christians teachers. Your noble
spirit never asks for monetary rewards, for it is reward enough for you to see that your patient
nurturing of our minds has borne fruit. We shall forever remember you as we continue our
journey in “achieving the better quality of life.”

To our beloved parents – we are proud of you. Thank you very much for your unselfish
devotion. You have spent sleepless nights just to meet our needs financially. Morally and
spiritually. Without you, we cannot achieve this success. You have been our inspirations. You
were there pushing us to study, helping in our assignments, joining us in our school programs
and activities. Again, thank you. We are proud of you.

To our classmates – sometimes we had misunderstanding, we teased others, we laugh and

cried out but we considered them as spices to make our togetherness colorful and
unforgettable. Bye for now. We temporarily depart and hope that ten years from now, when
we meet again for a grand reunion, we will all be professionals. Furthermore, we must show
our love for our country by being good and upright citizens.

To our schoolmates – you are the precious jewels of this institution. Therefore, study hard and
do well so you, too, can reach the ladder of success we are now in. Claim Jesus promise. “In Him
all things are possible”

To our friends and relatives – thank you for your presence. In one way or another, you have
helped us attain this success.

And above all to our Almighty God – whom we owe a debt of gratitude and appreciation for
without him we are nothing in this graduation day.

Lastly for us graduates, Bon Voyage” to the next step of our lives and endeavors.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I now say farewell, farewell and farewell.
