Importance of the project:-

As Iraq is a country of Mesopotamia and has a waterfront on the Arabian Gulf, so it was necessary to
realize the importance of the exploitation of this wealth to service the people because of its importance
and benefits in terms of economic, cultural, the need of the project appeared because of:

 The growing interest by scientists and scholars in the study of aquatic life.
 Increasing the knowledge of students and visitors and inform them of the aquatic living in Iraq.
 The people’s desire to see the organisms in the natural habits.
 Develop sources fisheries and food in Iraq.

Sustainability in project achieved in:-

1- Using the solar chimney to achieved natural ventilation.

2- Using dynamic elevation to control the sun ray coming throw.
3- 20% of the project covered by green surface.
4- 35% of the project shading by net skin.
5- Using a system working on re-filtration of the used water from the aquariums and re-used it
again to cooling the machine rooms.
6- Using Nano-concreat as a structural material and a layer of space-frame in the exterior wall to
provide a full thermal insulation.

Dynamic Elevation:

Using a simplified unit’s in the elevation refers to the shape of the fish scales (fish skin) and there units
are capable of partial movements (Dynamic) to provide the best angle for lighting and giving the
elevation more vitality and dynamic looking.

Solar chimney:

Using the solar chimney to achieved natural ventilation and thermal comfort in the main space and to
cooling the machines room by natural means

The private section of (laboratories, equipment and machinery rooms, liquidation nomination for fish
aquariums and the administrative part of the project will be insulated and has a private entrance and a
private vertical movement.
