I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the session, the students in Math 7 must be able to:
• recall the process of dividing numbers
• change fractions to decimal form
• write the equivalent decimal of a fraction

Content: Numbers and Number Sense

Content Standards: The learner demonstrates understanding of the key concepts of sets
and the real number system.
Performance Standards: The learner is able to formulate challenging situations involving
sets and real numbers and solve these in a variety of strategies.
Learning Competency: expresses rational numbers from fraction form to decimal form
and vice versa.
Code: M7NS-Ie-1

III. PROCEDURE (Lesson Development)

A. Daily Routine
i. Prayer
ii. Greetings
iii. Checking of Attendance
iv. Review:
Dividing numbers

B. Lesson Proper
i. Activity
Activity 1. Divide Me
Divide the following:
1.) 618 ÷ 6 = 103
2.) 66 ÷ 3 = 22
3.) 3 ÷ 12 = 0.75
ii. ANALYSIS
Q1. From the activity, which one of the three problems is possible to solve? Why?
A1: Only Problem No. 1 and 2 are possible to solve since the dividend is greater that the
divisor. Except for problem no. 3 in which divisor is greater that its dividend.

iii. ABSTRACTION
From the activity problem no. 3, we can show and elaborate how to change fractions
to decimal form for better understanding.

Q1. How to change fractions to decimal form?

A1. Any rational number can be changed from fractional form to decimal form. This is
done by simply dividing the numerator by the denominator.

Examples:

𝟏 𝟑 𝟐
1.) 𝟐
= 𝟎. 𝟓 2.) 𝟒 = 𝟎. 𝟕𝟓 3.) 𝟏𝟎 = 𝟎. 𝟐

iv. APPLICATION
Change the following from fraction to decimal form

𝟒 𝟏
4.) = 𝟎. 𝟖 5.) = 𝟎. 𝟏𝟐𝟓
𝟓 𝟖

IV. ASSESSMENT (Evaluation)

Formative (Assessment as Learning)
Change the following from fraction to decimal form
𝟏 𝟓
6.) 𝟒 = 𝟎. 𝟐𝟓 7.) 𝟏𝟔 = 𝟎. 𝟑𝟏𝟐𝟓

V. ASSIGNMENT (Agreement)
Change the following from fraction to decimal form
𝟗 𝟖
8.) 𝟐𝟎 = 𝟎. 𝟒𝟓 9.) 𝟏𝟏 = 𝟎. 𝟕𝟐𝟕𝟐𝟕𝟐𝟕𝟐 …
