Christmas Mouse

Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Materials needed :
Worsted weight yarn – 50 yards white, 30 yards red, 20 yards green.
Suggested yarn: Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton in White, Red & Grass.
3.25mm (D) hook
Other Materials Needed:
2 x 6mm safety eyes
Pink embroidery floss for nose
Yarn needle
Poly-fil

Size: 4.5” tall when made with the suggested yarn and hook size.

This quick and cute little Christmas mouse would make a great ornament or just a pocket sized toy!

Stitch abbreviations
Ch: chain
MR: magic ring
Slst: slip stitch

Sc: single crochet
Hdc: half double crochet
Dc: double crochet
Tr: treble crochet
BOB3: 3 dc bobble (see special stitches)
Inc: increase

Pattern is worked in continuous rounds unless noted otherwise.

Body
Make 1 – in white
Round 1: Sc x 6 in MR. (6)
Round 2: Sc inc x 6. (12)
Round 3: (Sc x 1, sc inc x 1) x 6. (18)
Round 4: (Sc x 2, sc inc x 1) x 6. (24)
Round 5-7: Sc x 24. (24)
Round 8: (Sc x 4, sc dec x 1) x 4. (20)
Round 9-10: Sc x 20. (20)
Round 11: (Sc x 3, sc dec x 1) x 4. (16)
Round 12: (Sc x 2, sc dec x 1) x 4. (12)
Round 13: Sc x 12. (12)
Stuff the body. FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Head
Make 1 – in white.
Stuff as you go.
Round 1: Sc x 5 in MR. (5)
Round 2: Sc inc x 5. (10)
Round 3: Sc x 10. (10)
Round 4: (Sc x 1, sc inc x 1) x 5. (15)
Round 5 (Sc x 2, sc inc x 1) x 5. (20)
Round 6-9: Sc x 20 (20)
Insert safety eyes between rounds 4 & 5, 5 sts apart.
Round 10: (Sc x 8, sc dec x 1) x 2. (18)
Round 11: (Sc x 1, sc dec x 1) x 6. (12)
Round 12: Sc dec x 6. (6)
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Whip stitch FLO and pull tight to close up the back of the head. Hide
ends.
Sew to the body. Embroider nose.

Arms
Make 2 – starting in green.
Stuff as you go, leaving the top of the arm unstuffed.
Round 1: Sc x 5 in MR. (5)
Round 2: Sc inc x 5. (10)
Round 3: Sc x 10. (10)
Round 4: Sc x 5, BOB3, Sc x 4. (10)
Round 5: (Sc x 3, sc dec x 1) x 2 (8) Change to white on the last st of this round.
Round 6: Sc x 8 BLO. (8)
Round 7: (Sc x 2, sc dec x 1) x 2. (6)
Round 8-9: Sc x 6. (6)
Round 10: Sc x 2 or until you reach the back of the arm, then pinch the arm closed and sc x 3 across both
sides.
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sew to the sides of the body.

Legs
Make 2 – starting in red.
Stuff as you go.
Round 1: Sc x 6 in MR. (6)
Round 2: Sc inc x 6. (12)
Round 3: Sc x 12 BLO. (12)
Round 4: Sc x 3, sc dec x 3, sc x 3. (9)
Round 5-6: Sc x 9. (9) Change to white on the last st of this round.
Round 7: Sc x 9 BLO. (9)
Round 8: Sc x 9. (9)
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sew to the bottom of the body.

Ears
Make 2 – white.
Round 1: Sc x 6 in MR. (6)
Round 2: Sc inc x 6. (12)
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sew to the head 4 rounds behind the eyes.

Tail
Make 1 – in white.
Row 1: Ch 15, sl st x 1 in 2nd ch from the hook, sl st x 13.
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew to the body.

Hat
Make 1 – starting in green.
Note – the beginning ch from each round does not count as a st.
Round 1: Ch x 24, sl st join to form a circle. Be careful not to twist the chain. (24)
Round 2: Ch x 1, sc x 24, join to 1st sc. (24)
Round 3: Ch x 1, (Sc x 4, sc dec x 1) x 4, join to 1st sc. (20) Change to red on the last st of this round.
Round 4: Ch x 1, hdc x 5, ch x 4, sk 4, hdc x 3, ch x 4, sk 4, hdc x 4, join to 1st hdc. (20)
Round 5: Ch x 1, hdc x 5, hdc x 4 in 4 chs, hdc x 3, hdc x 4 in 4 chs, hdc x 4, join to 1st hdc. (20)
Round 6-7: Ch x 1, hdc x 20, join to 1st hdc. (20)
Round 8: Ch x 1, (hdc x 8, hdc dec x 1) x 2, join to 1st hdc. (18)
Round 9: Ch x 1, hdc x 18, join to 1st hdc. (18)
Round 10: Ch x 1, (hdc x 4, hdc dec x 1) x 3, join to 1st hdc. (15)
Round 11: Ch x 1, (hdc x 3, hdc dec x 1) x 3, join to 1st hdc. (12)

FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Whip stitch FLO and pull tight to close up the hat. Weave in ends.
Fold down the end of the hat and add a stitch or two to hold it in place.

Pom pom for hat


Make 1 – in green.
Round 1: Sc x 5 in MR. (5)
Round 2: Sc inc x 5. (10)
Round 3-4: Sc x 10. (10)
Stuff the pom a little.
Round 5. Sc dec x 5. (5)
FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sew to the end of the hat.

Scarf
Make 1 – in red.
Row 1: Ch 37, dc x 1 in 2nd ch from the hook, dc x 34. (35)
FO and weave in ends.
Tie the scarf to the neck.

Optional - Add a piece of yarn or thread to the top of your mouse to


make him into an ornament!
