Supreme Student
Goverment President
Greetings in the name of Student Service!
The USeP-Supreme Student Government as the
confederated council of the whole student-body
of the University of Southeastern Philippines have
established its Technical Working Group (TWG) for
the making of the USeP-SSG Strategic Planning
2018-2021 headed by the Vice President for
Business & Correspondence, Mr. Jeomar A.
Bautista, together with the selected student-
leaders of the Five campuses of the university.
The TWG has been formed in order to conform
with the plans of the university administration in
ensuring the fulfillment of USeP's vision - to
become a premier university in the ASEAN Region.
The USeP-SSG aims to direct the consolidated
programs and plans of action to make sure that
the council will stay on tract when it comes to
activities that are going to be conducted. I have
been able to realize that the achievements of
the past made by the previous administrations
are only as valuable as the vision they inspire
in us in the near future. When I was elected as
the Student Regent of the USeP-SSG at a time
of remarkable momentum - unheard-of growth in
logical thinking and self-improvement, leadership

learning through experiences, making researches,
and proper communicating skills have been
present to help me improve myself and my life.
This is the primary reason why I want to convene
the whole USEP community to dicuss what’s
next. And here it is. I am beyond thankful and
happy that the Strategic Planning manual of the
USeP-SSG is finished and copies are all ready for
distribution.
There are Five identified Student Key Concerns
that will help in honing the physical, mental,
moral, & intellectual well-being of all the students
of the university. Namely;
▪ Student Governance
- This Key Concern aims to produce activities that
will help the student-leaders of the university give
their fellow students the kind of student-service
that they deserve. Student Leadership isn't
just about the position. It is all about one’s love &
passion for service. Also, it is about knowing the
importance of the position you are holding and
giving highlights about the responsibilities, the
pros & the cons.
▪ Trainings, Developments, and Exposures
- We all know the fact that life in the university
for 4 to 5 years will be the training ground of
a student for a secured future. The SSG aims
to help every USEP student to be socially
relevant individuals that can contribute for the
betterment of the institution and their respective
communities not just in the field of Academics.
▪ Networks & Linkages
- Like Trainings & Developments, creating
Networks and Linkages is essential for the
improvement of a student council or organization.
Partnerships can be very helpful too. Establishing
a tight bond with other organizations, may it be
inside or outside the university, will surely give
benefits for the student council itself.
▪ Resource and Income Generation
- Student Fund may be given by the university
administration but student-leaders especially
those who are governing small organizations may
find it hard to suffice the needs of their student
councils & orgs. This is the primary reason why
the SSG plans to create activities (especially
symposiums & seminars) that can give ideas for
income generation that can help them create
actions for their members to experience.
▪ Health and Well-Being
- “Health is wealth.”, a known quotation says. The
SSG believes that every student has the right to
enjoy their university life despite of the stress

because of academic requirements & pressure.
Activities that will be conducted will be serve as
their breather as they take breaks from the tiring
lost of time to sleep due to studying late during
nights. Excessive stress will give nothing but bad
effects to someone. There is also nothing wrong
with taking breaks every once in a while.
Benjamin Franklin once said, “By failing to
prepare, you are preparing to fail.”. One goal of
the SSG in making the Stategic Planning 2018-
2021 is to make sure that the next Four years will
be as fruitful as it can be. As the Student Regent,
I am very hopeful that these plans will be put into
action, not just in printed copies like this one. I
am also counting on my co-student-leaders. Let
us work hand in hand in making the University of
Southeastern Philippines, a premiere university in
the ASEAN region.

It has always been a challenge to every opportunities and break borders between

USeP-SSG is committed to create a unified and collaborative effort in:
• Upholding the rights, welfare and interests
of the students at all times;
• Contributi]png and adhering to the strict
implementation of university policies.
• Serving as an active and vigorous voice in
bringing the students’ grievances to proper
authorities;
• Providing the students relevant activities
that promote leadership and excellence to
grow in knowledge, and equip with morally
significant skills;
• Providing opportunities to the students in
local, national, and international experiences
for their holistic development;
• Supporting the students’ co-curricular
participation to the university leading to a
premier research university in the ASEAN;

how to become and create more competitive
and prolific student leaders. This, in the
future would contribute to the society. As
one of the university’s goal, the University
of Southeastern Philippines- Supreme
Student Government must have the capacity
to equalize and relate its standards for its
members through the university’s VMGO,
provided that the rights and welfare of
everyone is observed and not deprived. With
this, the USeP- SSG is compelled to evaluate
and concretely develop its governing body
from every aspect concerning leadership.
Seeing a dynamic and an ever changing
society, and by becoming the forefront in
excellence and resilient in student leadership,
the USeP- SSG must capture and adapt to
every challenges to be able to craft new
cultures and differences considering one’s
uniqueness in terms of knowledge, skills and
abilities.
In view of communal activities and programs,
the USeP- SSG has its own participation
which is bound not only limited to the idea
of compliance and conformity, but develop
relationships with other organizations and
governing bodies from other institutions,
local, national and international.
The USeP- SSG, being the highest governing
body of the university is entailed to
emanate as a leading student government
in the ASEAN with thorough excellence and
responsible leadership prominent not in
terms of personal gain but of collaborative
effort beneficial and favourable to all.

Student Key Concern 2
Training, Development and Exposure is simply defined as the formal, ongoing efforts that are
made within an organization to improve the performance of a certain student organization.
It can also be described as an educational process which involves the sharpening of skills,

concepts, changing to positive attitude, wisdom to enhance the performance of the students.

The Training, Development and Exposure improves the manpower competence in order to create
a competitive student body resulting to organizational success. This also means for student

leaders to address the students’ needs. By offering the training, development and exposure
to the student leaders it can enhance their leadership skills, personal development and social
interaction to the different student organizations.

Through this Training, Development and Exposure it helps in understanding and carrying out

Student Key Concern 5 Aside from academics, Health and Well-being is one of the most significant aspect in the life of
