NARRATIVE REPORT

True felicity comes from giving. Helping others along the manner makes
you measure who you are. Being able to assist is a privilege to everyone for it
teaches how to go concerned to those who are in demand. It helps everyone
to understand the spirit of compassion and to portion what we have to and get
rid of the selfishness concealed deep within us. It is the application of the old
saying “there is more happiness in giving than receiving”. Seeing those children
wearing a big smile plastered in their faces gives satisfaction to the students who
participated in the said activity. All their efforts, sacrifices and the tiredness they
felt was not gone in vain.

As portion of the Math-Science Club of the University of Cagayan Valley a

yearly activity, the Officers, the members as well as the teaching faculty of the
School of Liberal Arts and Teachers Education Dr. Felix Calubaquib, Dr. Larry
Villanueva, Mrs. Shirley Bayoneta, Ms. Kimberly Martin, Mrs. Vivian Tumaliaun, Ms.
Maryjane Regino, Mr. Carlo Capati, Mr.Albert Palatan and Jennifer Coballes
conducted a Post-Christmas Party and Outreach Program with a theme
“Handog Saya para sa mga Bata 2018 at Maddaralug Sur, Enrile, Cagayan last
December 08, 2018. The objectives of the activity: for the daycare pupils, for
them to feel the love and essence of Christmas, and to enjoy and have fun in
the party. For the students to share their blessings to the children.
Simple plan was organized by responsible students of BSED Mathematics
and Science major. The students brought awards and e organized games for
the Day Care children to bask. Beside from that they also prepared bites for
them. Aside from that they gave them books that they gathered from their class
and other colleges and departments in the UCV. Toys were also given through
the initiative of Mrs. Vivian Tumaliuan. They worked as one for the success of the
activity. The plan started with a supplication headed by Cyril Cauilan a science
major inquiring for God’s presence in the success of the said event.
The program started at exactly 1:00 pm. This was led by the president of
Math-Science Club Mr. Angelo T. Mariano. Mr. Austrick Tejada and Ms.
Josephine Culangan both Science major serves as the Maestro and Maestra of
Ceremonial. It is followed by a welcome remark from the accountable,
responsible and energetic Barangay Councilor Honorable Oscar Lappay. He
opened the activity and thanks everyone for their presence, sacrifices, effort
and sharing their time and extending their hands to make the children happy
this season of giving. Right after the opening message of Hon. Lappay, the
chosen BSED Math and Science major entertains the parents, children, visitors
and the teaching staff with their dance number. Parents of the Day Care
children also presented a dance number. Parlor games prepared by the
students and the advisers of the Math- Science Club were enjoyed by the kids of
the community and awards were given to the victors after all the games. Stop
Dance, Christmas Jingle Song and Christmas dance are the game that was
prepared. Daycare children are very much prepared since each team has their
own costumes and props. At precisely 3:00 in the afternoon the food that was
being prepared by Ms. Kathleen Joyce Villaroza, Ms. Zsandra Regondique, Mr.
Joffer Ballad and Ms. Rhestina Rivera was served and being enjoyed by the
children.
A school supply that was being packed by the adviser of the Math-
Science Club Ms. Jennifer Coballes and the Math and Science major students
were given to the Daycare children after the plan ends. Mrs. Vivian Tumaliuan
delivered her shutting comments and thanksgiving message to everyone. At
4:00 in the afternoon everyone wears a large smile on their faces as they go
place with their gifts from us. The Child Development Worker Mrs. Visitacion B.
Laddaran thanked everyone for making the Daycare children happy. The
activity ended by giving a Certificate of Participation to all the BSED
Mathematics and Science Major in appreciation for their active participation in
the said activity.
 After the Outreach program, we realized that everybody or anyone can
seek felicity but to us we did not hunt it. We just simply loved the thing we do
and that gives us true felicity. This activity besides taught us a batch of good
things: contentment with the things we already have, giving attention to the
needy people around us and extending our hands or time to make these
people realized that there are these people who are still willing to extend their
hands. It also makes us recognized the importance in ups and downs of life. This
besides gives us the thought that even the small things you do for others have
great impact in their lives.
We are really happy and looking frontward for another gift-giving activity
in the close hereafter.
