Summary Report
This Document intends to share the modules, discussions, activities, observations & learning’s that have taken
place within the club at Carmel School.

Session 1- Introduction (July 1st)


 The Session involved formal introduction between Platinums & club facilitator, Mayank Solanki.

 Explanation of Club Objective, Format & Planned Initiatives.

 Explained the concept of 3 wins (Self, School & Society).

 Personal Learning Journals distributed to each Platinum.

 Home Reflection Task of Identifying key challenges faced by students within school & society, potential
solutions & possible ideas to execute to make a positive change. Responses were to be e-mailed.

Virtual Session 1 - Conference Call (July 14th)


 Discussion over the email responses, importance of observation, survey & enquiry to find deep-rooted
sources of challenges being faced in school & society.

Session 2 – Observing a Problem, Developing an Solution (July 22nd)


 Hearing & discussing each platinum’s understanding of key challenges faced in school, followed by
Consensus building & Finalizing of key themes, initial ideation on plan to tackle the issue & also formally
make Platinum Club known to School Fraternity.

 Discussion of Leadership Article by Amy Rees Anderson.

 1 unique Leadership Book given to each Platinum (7 Habits of highly effective leaders, Good to Great, Blue
Ocean Strategy, Stay Hungry Stay Foolish, The Art of Innovation etc).

Virtual Session 2 - Conference Call (July 25th)


 Discussion to ensure, smooth & impactful execution of anti-bullying campaign event at Carmel.

 Discussion on how to deal with inactivity or unresponsiveness amongst team members; playing duel roles of
leaders in school & within core teams.

Session 3 – Leadership Trail (July 29th)


 Platinums had the opportunity to meet Mr Mukesh Punamiya, Chairperson of ‘Vitamberry’ listening to his
personal story of success, wisdom on learning how to think & dream big & starting early to achieve much in
life. He also organized few activities to help platinums learn experientially.

 Platinums also met & interacted with Mr Amogh, the deaf engineering champion who was an inspirational
success story in himself.

Session 4 – Change Event (Aug 14th)


 Platinums designed, planned & executed their first event as members of the Platinum Club – Anti Bullying
Campaign with students of Grade 9 & 7.

 Session involved arranging logistics, organizing skits, Q&A with audience in every session etc.

Session 5 – Debriefing Event & Moving Forward (Sept 9th)


 Session included debrief on the previous event (anti bullying event) to record positives & areas of
improvement including importance of clarity of vision, planning, putting deadlines, delegating work,
following up, having a plan B, taking support of teachers & management & excellence in execution.

 A Book Hook to debrief and share with each other what their respective leaderships books contained.

Session 6 – Leadership Trail & Industrial Visit (Oct 28th)


 Platinums had the opportunity to visit StoveKraft, India’s biggest home appliances manufacturer at their
flagship plant in Ramanagaram. Platinums were given a personalized tour of the plant & explained about
the manufacturing process in detail by variety of industry personnel.

 Later, Platinum interacted with a host of product heads, member of the board & also the dynamic founder
& CEO Mr Rajendra Gandhi who spoke about business, entrepreneurship, importance of courage, facing &
overcoming failure, need for trust, teambuilding & thinking big.
6 Summary

Session 7 – Harvard Leadership Ethics Class Experience & Communication for Impact (Dec 9th)
 Platinums underwent a process of learning how to deliver a power introduction by practicing the key
elements of a good introduction like structuring, clarity, conviction, positivity, enthusiasm, tonality, body
language etc.

 Platinums also experienced the Socratic method of teaching through questions by undergoing a Harvard
class on ethics called “Justice” where they learn variety of concepts in ethics & morality like
consequentialist moral reasoning, categorical moral reasoning, libertinism etc to understand the dilemmas
a leader face in different situations and what are the different approaches one can take towards them.

Session 8 – Leadership Trail with Minister of IT, BT & Tourism Shri Priyank Kharge & IFS, Govt. of India (Dec 23rd)
 On 23 rd Saturday Morning, Mr Priyank Kharge, Minister of State for IT, BT & Tourism met students of “The
Platinum Club” for a Tete-e-Tete discussion over changing landscape of public leadership, youth-led
change, digitization & role of youth in nation building.

 Students also got the opportunity to interact with leading IFS officers of Govt. of India and understand
nuances of a career in public service and what it takes to run massive public sector organizations.

Session 9 – End of year Review Session (Feb 5th)


 Students revisited the yearlong experience at Platinum Club and reflected on all the adventures, projects &
discussions they had been part of and learnt as part of the platinum club journey.

Session 10 – Conclusion Session with Parents (Feb 5th)


 Students presented the platinum club journey with parents, teachers, management & friends.

 Each student shared unique concepts of self-leadership they learnt, highlights of the leadership book they
were assigned & described their personal journey & transformations that occurred.

 Each student was awarded a certificate and memento for graduating from the program.
