INTRODUCTION
• Naga City, the fastest growing city in
Bicolandia, faces the internal
challenge of maintaining high level of
human development even as its
population is projected to double
within the next two decades. (Bongat,
2011)
• With the increased in population,
housing problems may further
increase.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
This study aimed to determine the impact of
Housing Projects on Urban Development in Pacol,
Naga City.
What is the status of housing projects in Pacol, Naga City in
terms of area, occupants, amenities and facilities and existing
number of years?
What is the impact of housing project on social, economic
and environmental development?
What are the factors affecting the housing projects in Naga
City?
METHODOLOGY
descriptive method of research,
The study employed the
specifically the survey research design, with the
residents of AVIDA Communities, to represent the sample population.
The URBAN DEVELOPMENT was measured based on three sections:
economic, social, and environmental development.

As perceived by the respondents, the following factors: increase
in population growth, business/work opportunities and Filipino
values/culture have significant bearing to the increase in the
number of housing projects.
Recommendations:
Developers should also explore on strategies that will minimize the use of
natural resources, toxic materials and emission of waste and pollutants caused
by land transformation due to construction.
Homeowners should also minimize the use of energy and observe proper
waste disposal system.
Educators, curriculum designers, and teachers should design instructional materials
that will educate the young generation on the positive and negative effects of
urbanization.
Similar studies may be conducted to further establish the impact of
housing projects on urban development. Moreover, further studies may
be conducted, exploring other factors that may significantly contribute to
housing projects.
