Castles Key Injection Terminal User

Guide
This user guide provides step-by-step on key injection using Key Injection Terminal.

There are two types of users, details will be explained in next sections:

1. Admin user
2. Operation user

1. Hardware Setup
1.1 Hardware requirementsRequirements
It is mandatory requirement to haveYou will need the following:

 Key Injection Terminal

 COM1 to COM1 cable


 External computer USB keyboard

 USB-to-mini USB converted converter cable

 Terminals for production

Additional requirement, if you need to export out the report database:


 Another USB-to-mini USB converted converter cable
 USB pendrive
Additional requirement, if Key Injection Terminal will connect to multiple terminals:
 USB hub

1.2 ConnectionSetup
1. Connect keyboard to USB-to-mini USB converter cable. All terminal input is via this
keyboard.

2. Plug in the cable to USB2 of Key Injection Terminal.
3. Plug in COM1 cable to COM1 of Key Injection Terminal and COM1 of production
terminal.
4. Power on Key Injection Terminal.

Complete setup may look like this:

If you want to connect to USB pendrive, do the following:


1. Connect USB pendrive to USB-to-mini USB converter cable.
2. Plug in the cable to USB1 of Key Injection Terminal.

The setup look like this


If you are using USB hub to connect to multiple terminals, do the following:
1. Connect USB hub to USB-to-mini USB converter cable.
2. Plug in the cable to USB1 of Key Injection Terminal.
3. Plug keyboard and all terminal download cables (USB end) to USB hub.
4. Plug all terminal download cables (mini-USB end) to USB1 of each terminal.

The setup look like this


1.3 Keyboard Usage Formatted: Heading 2, Outline numbered + Level: 2 +
1. All terminal input is via external keyboard. Terminal pinpad is disabled. Numbering Style: 1, 2, 3, … + Start at: 1 + Alignment:
Left + Aligned at: 0.25" + Indent at: 0.52"
5.2. Inputs for username and password are case-sensitive.
3. Username accepts alphanumeric input only. No special characters.
4. To go back to parent menu, press “Esc”.
2. Admin User
There is only single Admin user in Key Injection Terminal. Admin user is able to inject keys
and perform administration functions explained below.

2.1 First Power On


2.12.1.1 Master Key Formatted: Heading 3
1. For first time you power on the Key Injection Terminal, you need to enter Master Key, as
shown below.

Please contact Castles Singapore Team to obtain the Master Key by providing Key
Injection Terminal serial number found in a barcode sticker as shown below. For
example, the serial number is 1180003609. Castles Singapore Team will send you the
master key based on your serial number.

2. Enter the master key and press “Enter”.


2.1.2 Add Admin User Formatted: Heading 3, Outline numbered + Level: 3 +
3. Immediately after Master Key, Terminal prompts to create an admin user. Enter Aadmin Numbering Style: 1, 2, 3, … + Start at: 1 + Alignment:
Left + Aligned at: 0.25" + Indent at: 0.75"
username and press “Enter”.

4. Enter Aadmin password.


5. Re-enter Aadmin password.

6. Press “Enter”. Terminal will display successful message.


7. After you have an admin user, you can access Admin menu as follow.

2.2 DUKPT Key Injection


In Admin main menu, press select “3DES DUKPT” menu via external keyboard.

2.2.1 BDK
1. This isIn “3DES DUKPT” menu. S, select “BDK”.
2. Enter first 16 character block of Key Component 1.

2. This is 3DES DUKPT menu. Select


“BDK”.

3. Enter last 16 character block of Key Component 2


4. Press “Enter”. Terminal will display Check KCV for Key component 1. Press any
key to continue.

5. Enter first 16 character block of Key Component 2.


6. Enter last 16 character block of Key Component 2

7. Press “Enter”. Terminal will display Check KCV for Key component 2. Press any
key to continue.
8. Terminal will display Check BDK KCV. Press any key to go back to parent menu.

2.2.2 KSN
1. In “3DES DUKPT” menu, select “KSN”.
2. Enter KSN. Terminal will automatically go back to parent menu.

2.2.3 Key Information


1. In “3DES DUKPT” menu, select “ENTER INFO”.
2. Enter new Key Set. You may leave it empty and press “Enter” to use default
value.

3. Enter new Key Index. You may leave it empty and press “Enter” to use default
value.
4. Enter new Key Attribute. You may leave it empty and press “Enter” to use
default value.

5. Enter new Key Version. You may leave it empty and press “Enter” to use default
value.
6. Enter new Key Owner. You may leave it empty and press “Enter” to use default
value.

7. Enter new Max Counter. You may leave it empty and press “Enter” to use
default value.
8. Terminal goes back to parent menu.

2.3 DES/3DES Key Injection


In Admin main menu, select “DES/3DES” menu via external keyboard.

2.3.1 DES/3DES
1. In “DES/3DES” menu, select “DES/3DES”.

2. Enter first 16 character block of Key Component 1.


3. Enter last 16 character block of Key Component 1. Note: If the encryption type
is DES, press ENTER to skip and go to last step.

1.4. Terminal will display Check KCV for Key Component 1. Press any key to allow
second key component input.

5. Enter first 16 character block of Key Component 2.


6. Enter last 16 character block of Key Component 2. Note: This is only prompted
if the Key Component 1 is 16 bytes (3DES).

2.7. Terminal will display Check KCV FOR Key Component 2. Press any key to allow
second key component input.

8. Terminal will display Check DES/3DES KCV. Press any key to go back to parent
menu.

2.3.2 Key Information


1. In “DES/3DES” menu, select “ENTER INFO”.

2. Please refer to Key Information in DUKPT section on how to input the values. Formatted: List Paragraph, Numbered + Level: 1 +
Numbering Style: 1, 2, 3, … + Start at: 1 + Alignment:
Left + Aligned at: 0.75" + Indent at: 1"
2.4 User
In Admin main menu, select “USER” menu via external keyboard.

2.4.1 Add Admin User


In “ADD USER” menu. Select “Add Admin User”. Please refer to Add Admin User. Formatted: Indent: Left: 0.75"
2.4.2 Add Operation User
1. In “ADD USER” menu. Select “Add Operation User”. Enter Operation username
and press “Enter”.

2. Enter Operation password.

3. Re-enter Operation password.


4. Press “Enter”. Terminal will display successful message.

2.2.22.4.3 Change Password


1. Enter username.

2. Enter new password.


3. Re-enter new password

4. Press “Enter”. Terminal will display successful message.

2.32.5 REPORT
Report format is in S3DB. Please use SQLite to open REPORT_dd-MMM-yyyy_hh-mm-
ss.S3DB.

There are three types of report:

1. Injection report
When users execute key injection, the information is logged in this report.
2. KeyChange report
When users add or change new keys, the information is logged in this report.
3. User report
It records all available users. This record cannot be deleted in order to maintain
accuracy of user information.

2.3.12.5.1 Export Report


1. In admin main menu, select “REPORT” menu, then select “Export to USB drv”.
2. Key Injection Terminal will prompt to connect USB pendrive. After connected,
press ENTER, to cancel, press ESC.

3. Wait for export to complete.

4. Press any key to go back to parent menu.

2.3.22.5.2 Delete Report


1. In “REPORT” menu, select the report to delete.
2. After report has been deleted, press any key to go back to parent menu.

2.42.6 Reset Counter


Key Injection Terminal has a counter against maximum number of key injections allowed,
regardless of key type. Once the limit has been reached, Admin user can reset this counter
before users can use the terminal again.

In Admin main menu, go to “RESET Counter”. Wait for reset to complete, once done, press
any key to go back to parent menu.

2.7 Restart
After you have completed key injection tasks, you may restart the terminal for next user. In
admin main menu, select “RESTART”. Then press any key to restart.
2.8 Login
1. Upon Terminal power on, Terminal will prompt for Login username. Enter valid
username. It can be admin user or operation user.

2. Enter valid password.


3. Terminal display admin main menu or operation main menu, depending on username
entered.
3. Operation User
3.1 Key Injection
3.1.1 Production Terminal Formatted: Heading 3
1. Power on production terminal. If terminal is not in system mode, keep pressing
“CANCEL” during reboot until terminal goes into system mode.

2. Once you are in system mode, keep pressing “DOWN” key until you see “Key
Injection” menu.

3. Press “Key Injection” and wait for Key Injection Terminal.


3.1.2 Key Injection Terminal Formatted: Heading 3, Outline numbered + Level: 3 +
1. Upon Terminal power on, Terminal will prompt for Login username and Numbering Style: 1, 2, 3, … + Start at: 1 + Alignment:
Left + Aligned at: 0.25" + Indent at: 0.75"
password. User operation username and password to login, refer to Login. After
login is successful, you will see operation main menu as shown below.
Select “3DES DUKPT” or “DES/3DES” menu depending on type of key you need
to inject.

2. Select “KEY Inject” menu.


1.3. Select either USB or COM1

4. Wait for key injection to complete.


5. Key injection is successful.
3.2 Status Formatted: Heading 2, Outline numbered + Level: 2 +
In “Status” menu, operation user can check maximum number of key injection allowed Numbering Style: 1, 2, 3, … + Start at: 1 + Alignment:
Left + Aligned at: 0.25" + Indent at: 0.52"
and number of key injection user can perform.
3.3 Key Information Formatted: Heading 2, Outline numbered + Level: 2 +
In “KEY Info” menu, operation user can check DUKPT key information. Numbering Style: 1, 2, 3, … + Start at: 1 + Alignment:
Left + Aligned at: 0.25" + Indent at: 0.52"

3.2.1 ff

2.5 Copy <Castles release package>\vxupdate to pen drive

2.6 Use micro USB cable connect pen drive and terminal USB2
2.7 Power on terminal

2.8 Press key ‘0’ Download


2.9 Press key ‘1’ Download AP

2.10 Press key ‘2’ USB Disk, will auto download the software,

2.11 After finish download will auto restart terminal


2.12 Please restart terminal again after first download software.

3. Terminal Setting TMS


3.1 Idle screen press key ‘F1’

3.2 Enter password:1234


3.3 Press next button to menu “TMS SETTING” Formatted: Normal, Indent: Left: 0.5", No bullets or
numbering

3.4 Enter password:1234


3.5 Press 1

3.6 Enter SERIAL No.:, press “OK” go next step


3.7 Enter TMS GAP: 7, press “OK” go next step

3.8 Enter TMS COMM MODE:2, (if 2-GPRS,Jump to 2.8. if 1-ETH,Jump to 2.15.) press
“OK” go next step
3.9 Enter TMS REMOTE IP:118.201.48.210, press “OK” key go next step

3.10 Enter TMS REMOTE PORT, press “X” key go next step
3.11 Enter SIM SLOT:1, press ‘OK’ key go next step

3.12 Enter APN: , press ‘X’ key go next step

3.13 Enter GPRS USER NAME: , press ‘X’ key go next step
3.14 Enter GPRS PASSWORD: , press ‘X’ key go next step

3.15 Finish TMS GPRS Setting

3.16 Enter TMS REMOTE IP:118.201.48.210, press “OK” key go next step
3.17 Enter TMS REMOTE PORT, press “X” key go next step

3.18 Finish TMS ETH Setting

4. Terminal TMS Download


4.1 Idle screen press key ‘F1’
4.2 Press next button to menu “TMS DOWNLOAD”

4.3 enter password:1234


4.4 Enter TMS COMM MODE:2 (if 2-GPRS,Jump to 3.5. if 1-ETH,Jump to 3.6.)

4.5 Display configuration info, press any download

4.6 Display configuration info, press any download


CTMS Manager
Formatted: Normal, Indent: Left: 0.5", No bullets or
1. Logon to CTMS Server numbering

1.1 Modify file “ctos_ctms.ini” in C:\Program Files\CTMS_Manager 2.0.1, please


change the TMS_SERVER_IP to below IP

TMS_SERVER_IP=118.201.48.210

Note: Although the screenshots are using older version of CTMS Manager, the process
remains the same.

1.2 Run “..\ProgramFiles\CTMS_Manager 2.0.1\CTMS_Manager 2.0.1.exe”. Be


sure to run it as “administrator”.

1.3 Open CTMS_Manager 2.0.1.exe tools, please check the IP in below file
1.4 Enter Account: admin

Enter Password: CTMS

1.5 Click Login button


2. Add New Profile in CTMS
2.1 Go to Configuration tab. Then click Add New.
2.2 In the Create Configuration Model window, type Configuration Name and
select Terminal Type, then click Import From MMCI.
2.3 Open “.mmci” filename extension from your software package.

2.4 Select project.mmci, then click Open button.


2.5 Click OK button.
2.6 Click Yes button, then click Create New button.

2.7 Then click Yes button.


2.8 Go to Parameter tab. Then go to Import Parameter tab. Click Select Import File.
2.9 Select the “*.prm” file to import.

2.10 Click Open.


2.11 Click OK button to save.

3. Create New Group


3.1 Go to Group tab. Then go to Create tab.
3.2 Enter Group name

Select User: admin

Select you terminal model

Click “OK” button save

For example:

Group Name: Amex

Terminal Model: V3
3.3 Click Yes button to save.

3.4 Then go to Group Setting tab.


3.5 Select Terminal Model you are using.

Select Select Group you have just created.

Select Configuration Model you have just created.

Select File Name you have just imported.

For example:

Terminal Model: V3

Select Group: Amex

Configuration Model: Amex

File Name: V5S_AMEX


3.6 Then click button

3.7 Click Yes button, then click OK button.


3.8 Then click Yes button.
4. Add New Terminal in CTMS
4.1 Go to Terminal tab.

4.2 Click Manual Import,

Enter Serial Number: 16 digits (same with the CTMS setting in terminal)

Select Terminal Type

Select Select Group

For example:

Terminal Type: V3

Group: Amex
4.3 Click OK button, display below picture, then click Yes button.
5. Update Terminal Parameter in CTMS

5.1 Go to Group tab, then click Terminal Setting tab.


5.2 Select Terminal Model Formatted: Normal, Indent: Left: 0.5", No bullets or
numbering
Select Select Group

Double-click on Terminal text box

Select the Serial Number and double click it


5.3 Double click the Value row in the parameter you want to modify. It will be Formatted: Normal, Indent: Left: 0.5", No bullets or
highlighted and you can type new value. numbering
5.4 After modify the parameters, click , it will display below picture, click Yes
button.

5.5 Please click Yes button.


5.6 Then click OK button.

5.7 Then click Yes button.
