I. SITUATION OVERVIEW

At 7:30 PM, 12 January 2020, DOST PHIVOLCS raised the Alert Status of Taal to
Volcano from Alert Level 3 to Alert Level 4.

Taal Volcano entered a period of intense unrest beginning with phreatic or

stea-driven activity in several points inside the Main Crater at 1:00 PM of 12
January 2020 that progressed into magmatic eruption at 02:49 AM to 04:28 AM of
13 January 2020.

I. EFFECTS
A. Incidents Monitored (TAB A)

Continuous ash fall recorded in the provinces of Cavite, Batangas, Laguna

and Rizal.

A total of 144 volcanic earthquakes in the Taal region as of 01:00PM 12

January 2020. Forty four (44) of these earthquakes were felt with intensities
ranging from I – V in Tagaytay City, Talisay, Alitagtag, Sto Tomas and Lemery,
Batangas.

B. Affected Population (TAB B)

As of 2345H 13 January 2020, a total of 7,730 families with 35,945 persons

are in 130 evacuation centers from 27 cities and municipalities of Batangas
Province.

No reported casualties as of 2345H 13 January 2020.

D. Suspension of Classes and Work- TAB D

Classes in all levels inLipa City and Province of Batangas; Tagaytay City, Alfonso,
Amadeo, Silang and Indang Cavite; Sta Rosa City and Binan City, Laguna; and Antipolo,
Pililla, San Mateo and Morong, Rizal are suspended on 14 January 2020.
