Introduction:
According to the customer requirements and troubleshooting needs we are

building up this training to lead the PLC or Drive Beginners to start up with
Siemens Servo System.
In this Training we will explain how can you configure and Run SINAMICS
Drives
1- SINAMICS
 Hardware Connections and wirings.
 Hardware Configuration.
 Servo Motor Running from Control Panel of SIMATIC Scout
 Servo Tuning From SIMATIC Scout
 Cu320 with PLC Communication VIA PROFINET.
 MDI Set Point Going

SINAMICS System
Our system is consisting of the following devices.

1. CPU S7-300 : 6ES7 315-2EH14-0AB0
2. SINAMICS S120 Control Unit : 6SL3040 – 1MA01 – 0AA0
3. Smart Line Module 6SL3130 -6TE21-6AA3
4. Double Drive Module 6SL3120-2TE13 - 0AA4
5. Line Reactor

6. AC Servo Motor with Brake

Wirings
1- Line Reactor Wiring with smart line module.
You have to connect 1U1 – 1V1 – 1W1 to your Circuit breaker of the
Energy network then you have to connect 1U2 – 2V1 – 2W1 to The
Smart Line Module.

Motor Wiring
In our case we have connected our motor’s orange cable to X1 plug
The Black Cables have numbers from 1 till 5
1, 2, and 3 for energy and 4(+) and 5(-) 24Vdc of brake control.
It is very important to be carefully to never connect to cable number 2 in the

place of number 1 or 3 because the drive would be have angular fault.

As the image inserted below we have Connect 24VDC (+) to terminal 1 and
24VDC (-) to terminal 4.
And the same thing would be to Drive Terminal

We have to connect 24 VDC to the Control Unite.
Then we can connect the PLC and Control Unite together via PROFINET.
Here we have finished the Hardware Side.
Hardware Configuration:
1- PLC Side :
We have to set the IP address of the CU320.

- In our Case the device name is SINAMICS and the IP address is

192.168.1.101
- We have to add a rack with CPU 315 2PN/DP as the below picture.

- Add new Control unite from PROFINET item ,SINAMICS item , S120
CU320 PN , Then V4.7 in our case.

We have configured the smart line module “Drive Object Name” as

Infeed by double clicking on the Siemens Telegram Item
- Select Siemens Telegram 370 , PZD 1/1

- For Drive1 “Drive Object “ we have to choose Siemens Telegram
111,PZD12/12

- For CU320 “Drive Object “ we have to choose Siemens Telegram 390
, PZD 2/2
Now The PLC is ready to download.

- For First time downloading and best performance of communication
you have to put the CPU in Stop Mode and Close all SIMATIC Step 7
Manager Tools (LDB---SCL HW-Config ----ECT).
- By Clicking on the CPU item on the left side of the Setp-7 manager
then press PLC item on the top of the Step 7 , and press the
“Compile and Download Objects”
- Press Start To Be Sure all the blocks and connection are compiled
and downloaded together.

- A text file would be appeared and in the end like this message should
be present

At this point the PLC Hardware Configuration has been done.

SCOUT SIDE
We Are Using SCOUT V4.5
- After Opening the SIMATIC Scout from our project
- The Following image will appear with only Control Unit automatically
added.

- We have to insert new System Infeed by pressing inset Infeed .

- In our case we have Smart Line Feed and we have to name it with
the same name of the Hardware Configuration of the SIAMTIC
manager.
- The following item will appear and here we can choose the type of
the Smart Line Module in our case 16 KW 6SL3130 -6TE21-6AA3.

- Of course we have to check on “Line /DC Link Identification at First
Switch On”
- And leave the other check box never checked
Because we do not have other module connected as per parallel,
there is no Voltage Sensing Module, and there is no breaking
module.

- We Have To Choose The Siemens Topology Communication of
Scout and Should be the Same on the PLC side Telegram 370 , PZD
1/1

Here this picture gives you a summary of your configuration of System

Infeed.

- Press Insert New Drive

Drive Should have the same name with the Hardware configuration of
the PLC

- In our case we are using the drive as basic positioner with Speed
Control (with Encoder)

- In the image below you have to choose your drive type.
- in our case we are using This Type 6SL3120-2TE13 - 0AA4

- From the image below we have to choose the socket number of the
Drive which the Servo Motor is connected of it.

We used Connection X1.
We have chosen Drive-Cliq Motor Type.

Then you have to choose the brake mode which you would like to choose if
your motor has braking hold resistor.

If you do not have any external encoder you do not need to check Encoder
2 and Encoder 3.

We have to choose Siemens Telegram 111 , PZD-12/12
Then you can check the summary and press finish

- At this step the Control Unit configuration is ready to download.
Press the download button
Download Target Window will appear
Select “Store Additional Data on Target Device”
Select “After Loading Copy RAM to ROM”
Then press yes
It would take a few minutes.
At the End of the Downloading the drive control unites would be ready to
commissioning.

Minimize the Drive Item in the Right window of the scout>Commissioning

Press Assume Control priority
Life Sign Monitoring Should be Active “1000” ms then press accept
As the following the next status of the control panel

Press Line Feed Module Enable Button

Check Enable Check box.

 OFF3 Enable
 Enable Operation
 Ramp function Generator Start
 Set point Enable
For First start set a small value of the setpoint like 40 RPM of the
speed
Then Press Start Button.
Now The Motor Should Run….
Press Give Up Priority to finish the drive commission

Servo Tuning From SIMATIC Scout

In this course we would not explain too many details about Servo
Tuning.
By pressing Automatic Controller Setting Button Servo Automatic
Tuning page will appear to you,

Press Assume Control Priority
Life-Sign Monitoring Active and monitoring Time 1000 ms
Press Accept

Then Start.
It is Recommended To Active Step By Step Mode

You have to repeat the same steps 4 times…

After Step number 4
Then you can accept the Values

Software settings
First of all you have to transfer the data of the PROFINET communication
between the PLC and The S7-120 unites inside DBs by using SFC14 and
SFC 15.

Smart Line Module Communication signals:

1- Control Via PLC DB154.DBX0.2
2- 1 = No OFF2 (enable is possible) DB154.DBX1.1
3- 1 = Enable operation (pulses can be enabled) DB154.DBX1.3

4- Enable System infeed (close pre-charging/line contactor, pulses
can be enabled) DB154.DBX1.0

Drive Control with MDI Control
1- Control via PLC =1 DB156.DBX0.2

Should be with condition no MDI set point is active ,Operation is
enabled , and the Jog backward is not active
