for the Jaquar Manufacturing Expansions and Greenfield Warehouse At Sp - 65-66 & Sp-
55(b), Riico Industrial Area, Bhiwadi

Dear Madam,

This is in reference to the above mentioned subject. Subsequent to the discussions we had and your
e-mails dated 30th May 2016, find hereunder the required additional recommendations.

Considering the level differences at site and also that subsoil strata at shallow depths below NGL
(Natural Ground level) is in a loose state, placing foundations at a depth of 0.3m below the NGL can
not be recommended. However, it is advisable to excavate the natural ground level (NGL) down to
about 1.5m depth below NGL. The subsoil should be relaid by engineered compaction and a net
allowable bearing pressure of 10 t/m2 can be adopted at a depth of 0.3m below the NGL, subject to
the proper engineered fill of the soil. However, for foundations widths >5m, net allowable bearing
pressure of 12 t/m2 can be adopted subject to the proper compaction and confirmation post filling of
the same.

After the filling of the soil of about 3.5m by proper compaction in layers (engineered fill), a net
allowable bearing pressure of 10 t/m2 can be adopted at any depth beyond 1.5m below FGL (finished
ground level).

The filling of soil of about 3.5m shall not have any significant effect on the net allowable bearing
pressure recommended above.
Note :
1. As the filled-up strata in borehole BH5, located at a corner of the site, has been encountered
down to about 2m depth below the NGL, the complete filled-up strata should be excavated
and removed before starting the engineered fill at site.

2. GENERAL PROCEDURE TO CARRY OUT THE ENGINEERED FILL.

a. Low plastic to non-plastic soil with fines percentage less than 40% should be used for the
engineered fill. To ensure that the soil from the borrow areas meet the above requirement, the
tests for sand content and plasticity should be carried out as per the guidelines given in clause
903.2.1 of the MORTH Specifications for Road and Bridge Works
b. The soil as above should be laid in maximum 300mm thick layers and compacted preferably
to minimum 95% of the Standard Proctor Density of the soil, using heavy vibratory rollers.
c. Strict quality control in the form of determination of the compacted density of the fill should
be carried out as per the guidelines given in clause 903.2.2 of the MORTH Specifications for
Road and Bridge Works.
