ACCEPTANCE TEST PROCEDURE

1. INTRODUCTION

This specification is the property of National Radio Telecommunication Corporation


Haripur Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan. It is liable to amendment at any time and
must be returned to the DCE PMQC, NRTC Haripur Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on
demand or immediately on completion of the purpose for which it was issued.
This specification or pattern or any other information issued in connection therewith
may only be used for specific enquiries, tenders or orders placed by competent
authority. It is not to be used for any other purpose whatsoever without the express
written sanction of the DCE PMQC.

1.1 PRODUCT DISCRIPTION

CUCM is an IP-based communications system integrating voice, video, data, and


mobility products and applications. It enables more effective, secure
communications and can transform the way in which the user communicates. CUCM
extends enterprise telephony features and functions to packet telephony network
devices including IP Phones, media processing devices, VoIP gateways, and
multimedia applications. Additional data, voice, and video services, such as
converged messaging, multimedia conferencing, collaborative contact centers, and
interactive multimedia response systems, interact with the IP telephony solution
through the CUCM application programming interface (API). CUCM exhibits call
processing, signaling and device control, dial plan administration, phone features
administration and directory services. Call manager also provides programming
interface to external applications and backup and restoring tools
CUCM Server is designed for use in high and low temperature environments that
are subject to shock, vibration, dust and sand with this particular model providing
resistance to water ingress at up to IP54 rating. It has ruggedized structure and Rack
Mountable assembly.

1.2 LIST OF REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

2. ACCEPTANCE/REJECTION CRITERIA
2.1 Functional Inspection

If failure ratio is more than 20% then the lot will be returned for rectification and
reoffering. In case failure ratio is less than 20% then the faults will be rectified at the
spot and upon rechecking if the fault still persists, then the faulty unit will be replaced
with a fresh one.

3. TEST PROCEDURES

Unless otherwise specified, UUT (Unit under Test) which is mentioned in this
document is CUCM (Cisco Unified Communication Manager)

3.1 FUNCTIONAL TEST

The purpose of functional test is to verify the voice & video services of CUCM over
the network. This section explains functional tests applied to CUCM, test equipment
required, test setup preparation and procedures to perform functional tests. The
functional tests of CUCM consist of the following test cases:

Management Port Test


The purpose of management port test is to access the CUCM system for in order to
verify different hardware and software parameters. The hardware and software
parameter includes the detail of software versions being used and hardware
interfaces details. This test also includes the verification of CUCM configuration.

a) Test Equipment
The following test equipment is required to perform functional testing of CUCM
with NGPATCOM System.
 CUCM
 DC Power Cable
 Ethernet Cable
 Laptop
 Access node power system with cables
 Any latest browser installed in laptop

b) Test Setup Diagram


Test setup for Management port testing of CUCM is illustrated below.

c) Preparing Test Setup


a. Verify that the test equipment listed in section 3.1.1(a) operates properly and
does not affect the test result
b. Test setup is to be prepared as shown in Fig-3.1.1.
c. Connect DC power cable from PDU with CUCM power port.
d. Power UP the access node power system.
e. Power on the CUCM & wait for ten minutes for system to start its all services.
f. Connect Ethernet(management) Port of CUCM with laptop Ethernet
interface.

d) Test Procedure
Console port test includes the verification of CUCM Software and hardware
parameters.

a. Open any browser and enter IP address: 120.18.0.82 in URL bar and press enter.
Following page would be displayed.

b. Click on Cisco unified communication manager and you will be directed to login
page as show below.

c. Enter user name administrator and password@123 in password filed on login page
& press enter. Following page should be displayed.

As shown in above figure version 9.1.3 of CUCM is running with VMware


Installation: 2 vCPU Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4114 CPU @ 2.20GHz, disk 1:
80Gbytes, 8192Mbytes RAM.

Local Call Test


The purpose of this test is to verify local call testing between two IP phones
connected to CUCM over the network.

a) Test Equipment
The following test equipment is required to perform CUCM Local Call Test.
 CUCM
 DC Power Cable
 Laptop
 Any web browser
 Access node Power supply.
 Ethernet cables
 2x IP Phones
 POE Switch/Network Distribution Assembly with POE

c) Preparing Test Setup


i. Verify that the test equipment listed in section 3.1.2(a) operates properly
and does not affect the test result
ii. Test setup is to be prepared as shown in Fig 3.1.2
iii. Connect DC power cable from PDU with CUCM power port
iv. Power On Access mode Power System.
v. Power on CUCM and wait for ten minutes for system stability

d) Test Procedure

CUCM Local Calling test consists of two stages; first stage consists of the
verification of voice configuration from Web based GUI & in the second stage
Local calling on CUCM would be tested.

a. Verification of voice configuration


i. Open any browser and enter IP address: 120.18.0.82 in URL bar and
press enter. Following page would be displayed.

ii. Click on Cisco unified communication manager and you will be


directed to login page as show below.

iii. Enter user name administrator and password@123 in password


filed on login page & press enter. Following page should be
displayed.

iv. Go to device and then phone as show in figure below.

v. After you are in phone menu page click find button then following
settings should be displayed in the phone menu.

As shown in the figure above 2 ip phones (highlighted by black box)


are configured on CUCM

b. Local SIP Calling Test

The purpose of this SIP calling test is to verify the calling between two SIP users
of CUCM. It consists of the following steps:

i. Ensure connectivity of IP Phone1 & 2 with NDU ports.


ii. Dial number 58001 from IP Phone1 & test the call from IP Phone1 to IP
Phone2.
iii. Dial number 58000 from IP Phone2 & test the call from IP Phone2 to IP
Phone1.

Remote SIP Call Test


The purpose of this test is to verify local call testing between two ip phone
connected to CUCM and RS-100 over the network.

a) Test Equipment
The following test equipment is required to perform CUCM Remote calling test.
 CUCM
 RS-100
 DC Power Cable

 Laptop
 Any web browser
 Access node Power supply.
 Ethernet cables
 2x IP Phones
 Network Distribution Assembly with POE

c) Preparing Test Setup


i. Verify that the test equipment listed in section 3.1.3(a) operates properly
and does not affect the test result
ii. Test setup is to be prepared as shown in Fig 3.1.3
iii. Connect DC power cable from PDU with CUCM & RS-100 power port
iv. Power On Access mode Power System.
v. Power Up CUCM & RS-100 and wait for ten minutes for system stability

d) Test Procedure

CUCM Remote Calling test consists of two stages; first stage consists of the
verification of voice configuration from Web based GUI & in the second stage
remote calling on CUCM would be tested.

a. Verification of voice configuration


i. Open any browser and enter IP address: 120.18.0.82 in URL bar and
press enter. Following page would be displayed.

ii. Click on Cisco unified communication manager and you will be


directed to login page as show below.

iii. Enter user name administrator and password@123 in password filed


on login page & press enter. Following page should be displayed.

iv. Go to device and then phone as show in figure below.

v. After you are in phone menu page click find button then following
settings should be displayed in the phone menu.

As shown in the figure above ip phone (highlighted by black box) is


configured on CUCM

vi. now go to call routing then route/hunt and finally select route
pattern as shown in figure below.

vii. After clicking route pattern, you will be transferred to route pattern
page. click the find button as shown below (highlighted with a red
box).

viii. Upon clicking on find button following configuration should be


displayed.

As shown in the above figure a route pattern (highlighted by a red


box) for RS-100 is configured on CUCM in order to testing calling
between RS-100 & CUCM.

ix. Now go to device then click on gateway as shown in fig below.

x. After clicking gateway, you will be redirected to gateway page. Click


find button on gateway page and following settings should be
displayed.

b. Remote SIP Calling Test

The purpose of this SIP calling test is to verify the calling between SIP user of
CUCM and RS-100. It consists of the following steps:

i. Ensure connectivity Equipment as in fig.3.1.3.


ii. Dial number 58001 from IP Phone2 & test the call from IP Phone1 to IP
Phone2.
iii. Dial extension with pattern 51xxx (no. configured on RS-100 for IP-Phone)
from IP Phone1 & test the call from IP Phone1 to IP Phone2.

Video call Test


The purpose of this test is to verify Video calling services of CUCM by testing call
between VTC & a video phone.

a) Test Equipment
The following test equipment is required to perform Video Calling Test.
 CUCM
 VTC
 DC Power Cable
 Laptop
 Any web browser
 Access node Power supply.
 Ethernet cables
 1x IP Phones
 Network Distribution Assembly with POE

c) Preparing Test Setup


i. Verify that the test equipment listed in section 3.1.4(a) operates properly
and does not affect the test result
ii. Test setup is to be prepared as shown in Fig 3.1.4
iii. Connect DC power cable from PDU with CUCM power port
iv. Power On Access mode Power System.
v. Power Up CUCM & VTC wait for ten minutes for system stability

d) Test Procedure

CUCM Local Calling test consists of two stages; first stage consists of the
verification of voice configuration from Web based GUI & in the second stage
Local calling on CUCM would be tested.

a. Verification of configuration
i. Open any browser and enter IP address: 120.18.0.82 in URL bar and
press enter. Following page would be displayed.

ii. Click on Cisco unified communication manager and you will be


directed to login page as show below.

iii. Enter user name administrator and password@123 in password


filed on login page & press enter. Following page should be
displayed.

iv. Go to device and then phone as show in figure below.

v. After you are in phone menu page click find button then following
settings should be displayed in the phone menu.

As shown in the figure above an ip video phone and VTC


(highlighted by red box) is configured on CUCM
b. Video Calling Test

The purpose of this SIP calling test is to verify the calling between SIP user of
CUCM and RS-100. It consists of the following steps:

i. Ensure connectivity Equipment as in fig.3.1.4.


ii. Dial number 55001 from video phone & test the call from IP Video phone
to VTC.
iii. Dial number 55000 from VTC & test the call from VTC to Video Phone.

SIP Trunk Call Test


The purpose of this test is to verify integration of PASCOM SIP trunk with CUCM and
calling between CUCM and PASCOM users.

a) Test Equipment
The following test equipment is required to perform CUCM SIP trunk call test.

 DC Power Cable
 Laptop
 Any web browser
 Access node Power supply.
 Ethernet cables
 1x IP Phones
 Network Distribution Assembly with POE
 PASCOM Exchange link

c) Preparing Test Setup


i. Verify that the test equipment listed in section 3.1.5(a) operates properly
and does not affect the test result
ii. Test setup is to be prepared as shown in Fig 3.1.5
iii. Connect DC power cable from PDU with CUCM power port
iv. Power On Access mode Power System.

v. Power Up CUCM wait for ten minutes for system stability

d) Test Procedure

CUCM Local Calling test consists of two stages; first stage consists of the
verification of voice configuration from Web based GUI & in the second stage
Trunk calling on CUCM would be tested.

a. Verification of configuration
i. open any browser and enter IP address: 120.18.0.82 in url bar and
press enter. Following page would be displayed.

ii. Click on Cisco unified communication manager and you will be


directed to login page as show below.

iii. Enter user name administrator and password@123 in password


filed on login page & press enter. Following page should be
displayed.

iv. Go to device and then Trunk as show in figure below.

v. After you are in trunk menu page click find button then following
settings should be displayed in the phone menu.

As shown in the figure above 3 SIP trunk extensions (highlighted by


red box) are configured on CUCM for PASCOM
b. SIP Trunk Calling Test

The purpose of this SIP calling test is to verify the calling between SIP users of
CUCM and PASCOM. It consists of the following steps:

i. Ensure connectivity Equipment as in fig.3.1.5.


ii. Dial number 58001 from any PASCOM number & test the call from
PASCOM to IP Phone.
iii. Dial number any PASCOM number from IP phone & test the call from IP
phone to PASCOM.
