PROFESSIONAL E XPERIENCE

Majeed & Mohammed Co. W.L.L, Bahrain 2013 – 2019

Representing prestigious and well-known brands in Tiles, Sanitary Ware, Kitchens and Natural Stone.

Procurement & Logistics Director

▪ Managed an annual procurement budget of $9,000,000.
▪ Strategically aligning departmental workflow, resulting in 3 key procurement departments (Purchasing, Stock Control, Warehouse
& Logistics) to vastly increase efficiency.
▪ Created role SOP’s to define objectives/remit, enhancing a ‘team’ environment. Created workshops on the new ERP system for
key team leaders; resulting in ability to troubleshoot issues themselves and speed up business efficiency.
▪ Identified that all purchases were Sales Manager led [without any form of analysis] with zero input from Procurement leading to
excess spend with new suppliers. Implemented a sourcing committee to discuss product/supplier/quantity to source, this
resulted in more tailored purchasing with less obsolete stock.
▪ Focusing on strategic and operational processes to achieve results in required timelines. Designed a clearly defined GIT [goods in
transit] process with access to new products and showroom dispatch timelines.
▪ Created an archive and internal resource database to extract the final confirmed samples version for comparison with the final
product received. This increased the success ratio of receiving the correct product with the exact materials at the exact price
point and improved supplier relations as specifications/expectations were defined at the beginning.
▪ Conducted reviews and negotiations with suppliers and contractors, resulting a reduced pool of suppliers creating an increase in
product delivery turnaround and improved payment terms and savings.
▪ Delivering support for other business subsidiaries; create procedures within business functions.
▪ Created bespoke KPI reporting using data analytics to highlight the ‘real’ sales v ‘spend’ correlation leading to a more focused
procurement budget and supplier/product targets. This resulted in reducing overall supplier spend.

▪ Installed new BOM structure and process into the business. Resulting in a clear understanding of product variations, cost, design
iterations, which impacted lead-time (in-house and supplier), this improved planning and cost control.
