SOCIAL STUDIES 9

Think Positive!: Framing the Best Solution to Philippines' Societal Issues

To this day, the ideas of Locke, Rousseau, Hobbes and other Enlightenment thinkers, have greatly
influenced our society. These ideas have revolutionized how humans see and understand society. At present, our
society has become more complex and is riddled with many issues. As society becomes more complex, new
solutions are needed to address these modern issues. Which ideology could best provide a solution to the current
issues in our society?
Directions: Write a position paper on the ideology that can best provide a solution to the current societal issues
that are prevalent in our society today.Answer the guide questions to help you substantiate your
paper.
1. Choose one of the ideologies that was discussed in class. How would you explain your chosen ideology?
2. How did your chosen ideology affect society? In what terms? Give at least 3 evidence.
3. What are current social issues that your ideology wishes to explain? What is your position on this/these?
4. How can your chosen ideology help address your chosen societal issue?
