FEED MATERIAL
The BL Pegson Impactor has been designed for both primary and secondary reduction of rock,
ore, brick and other suitable materials. For materials with high silica content or high abrasion
characteristics, especially when combined with high reduction ratios.
It is important feed material is evenly distributed over the feed inlet, and in order to control this it
is recommended that a feeder of similar width is placed immediately ahead of the impactor.
CRUSHER BODY
Heavy fabricated main frame which is lined
with replaceable wear resistant liner plates,
some of which are interchangeable.
Inspection and maintenance hatches are
provided and the rear of the body is
designed to open hydraulically giving access
to the rotor and major wear parts.
IMPACTOR ROTOR
GRINDING PATH
The machines can be supplied with or without
grinding path assembly. When fitted this gives a
greater control of product size and improved
product shape. The grind path is manually
adjusted by means of an adjusting rod, which
protrudes from the back of the crusher.
ROTOR BLOWBARS
Fitted with two full and two half-size standard
manganese blowbars, which are secured with
locking plates and are reversible to maximise
wear life. High Chrome blow bars are
available as an option to suit different
applications.
APPLICATION
This plant is designed for both demolition and quarrying applications. When fitted with
manganese blow bars the crusher will tolerate small quantities of steel reinforcing bar in the
feed. However, the machine is not designed to accept large pieces of steel or other uncrushable
objects, and the feed material should be assessed / inspected for suitability prior to use. It is
vitally important that large pieces of steel or similar uncrushable objects are not allowed to enter
the crushing chamber as severe damage and injury may occur. When High Chrome bars are
fitted, no steel should be allowed to enter the chamber, the machine should only be used on
quarry applications, or clean materials such as asphalt.
BASE IMPACTORS SPECIFICATION
DRIVE
The impactors are designed to be driven through a wedge belt drive arrangement, and are
suitable for either electrical of diesel engine drive. Power input must not exceed that shown in
the table in additional information, without consultation with BL Pegson Limited. Cage pattern
motors with star delta starters are recommended but slip ring motors with starter rotor starters
may also be used if desired. Purchaser to ensure that the electrical supply is suitable and
adequate for the installed power and motor starting characteristics.
Suitable wedge belts, drive guard and a motor pulley will be required together with a support
structure able to withstand static and dynamic loads imparted by the action of the impactor.

GUARDS
Where guards are provided they are designed and manufactured so far as reasonably practised
that the machinery and plant which they are fitted can be operated safely and without risk to
health when properly used. However, the company cannot guarantee that the guards provided
will meet the requirements laid down by individual inspectors and any additional guards and/or
modification to guarding supplied, which may be required for any reason whatsoever, will be
charged an additional contract price.
OPERATING PARAMETERS
The plant is designed to operate between ambient temperatures of between -10°C & 40°C at altitudes up to 1000
meters above sea level. For applications outside this range please consult with BL Pegson Limited.
