It is a model of social change by which the power is
concentrated at the top. Both the leaders and the
followers compete for patronage and connections.
Builds community capacity -It is a process which
requires both a conscious and conscientious effort to
do something.
Class conflict model -This model portrays a lower
class-higher class relationship. Lower class is the
oppressed and higher class is the oppressor.
A community ass fuzzy boundaries-The human
interaction present may be seen as consisting only of
relations among the residents living inside a village.
If the residents interact with people outside the
village, they may move or live to other villages.

There may be communities within larger
communities including districts, regions, ethnic

Civil society -The aggregate of non-governmental
organizations and institutions that manifest interests
and will of citizens. It includes family and the private
sphere.
Solidarity -It is a unity or agreement of feeling or
action especially among individuals with a common
interest, mutual support within a group.
Community engagement -It refers to the process by
which community benefits organizations and
individuals build ongoing, permanent relationships
for the purpose of applying a collective vision for the
Community dynamics -It is a change in community
structure and composition over time.
A community may move-When technology is not
based on local horticulture, the community residents
may be physically mobile.
Power in Number-The base, back-up, and support of
the people in the community.
Connections-The capacity to create linkages and
develop helpful relationships with powerful
individuals, family and organizations.
Rewards-The ability to provide awards, promotion,
money and gifts that are useful to meet individual or
organizational goals.
Legitimate power -The leadership title or higher
organizational or institutional position.
Information-The ability to keep or share information.
Personal traits/expertise -The capacity to foster
respect and loyalty based on charm, talents and
skills.
Technology -This dimension is not comprised of the
physical tools but of the learned ideas and behavior
that allow humans to invent, use and teach others
about these tools.
Belief-Conceptual- This dimension is sometimes
thought to be the religion of the people.
Community power -It is about the distribution of
power at the local community level.
Community -A group of people living in the
same place or having a particular characteristic in
common.
Community Action -It is a strategy for creating
community-based change towards specific social and
environmental policy objectives.
Economic issues -It is a fluctuation affecting income
improvements; restrain economic development and
negative effect of the development of people.

Local or grassroots level -It is a movement
associated with bottom-up, rather than top-down
decision making and is sometimes considered more
natural or spontaneous than more traditional power
structures.
Political issues -It is social situations in the
Philippines were we experiencing nepotism, patron-
client relations and cronyism.
Institutional -This dimensions looks at patterns of
relationships that are sometimes identified as roles,
status and the formation of groups and institutions
that derive from those patters.
Aesthetic- Values- This refers to the structure of
ideas- sometimes paradoxical inconsistent or
contradictory that people have about what is good
and bad, beautiful and ugly and right and wrong.
Economic-It is the community’s various ways and
means of production and allocation of scarce and
useful goods and services through barter, market
trade, state allocations and others.
Political -The various ways and means of allocating
power, influence and decision-making.
Paternalism -It is the first stage of racism as
described by the Scientific Movement of Historical
Awareness.
Ecological issues -It is a situation were in the natural
resources of the country have been imperiled by
unrelenting exploitation.
Strengthens the community- It is a community
development that has a set of core values and social
principles that include human rights, social inclusion,
equality and respect for diversity and specific skills
and knowledge base.
Strengthens the community -It is a community
development that emphasizes self-help, mutual
support, capacity development, neighborhood
integration and promotion of collective action.
Citizenship -It is a position or status of being citizen
of a particular country.
Builds active citizenship -It is a community
development that strengthens the capacity of people
as active citizens through their community groups,
organizations and networks.
Strengthens civil society-It is a community
development through prioritization of community
actions and aligns their perspectives in the
development of social, economic and environmental
policies.
Collective action -It is the process of finding the
power of combined voices and determination,
mobilizing people, acting their mutual benefit.
Empowers individuals and groups- It is a community
development process, through community building
and community organizing empowers individuals and
groups by providing them with skills they need to
effect change.
Interest group model- It is a model of social change
that composed of a variety of groups and
organizations coming from the lower strata of
society, each with its common interest and seeking
to be heard and to influence policy decisions and
actions.
Build community -It is about community building
where the process is as important as the results. The
challenge lies on the balancing of long-term
solutions and short-term-actions.
Informal education -It is learning that takes place
predominantly through direct involvement in
community activities.
Supports establishment of strong communities- It is a
community development that helps the people to
recognize and develop their abilities and organize
themselves to respond to common problems.
Organization development -It is a form of action that
helps organizations by enabling the members to
achieve their goals.
