A.

CONCRETE
- Construction material composed of cement, fine aggregates (sand) and coarse aggregates
mixed with water which hardens with time.
1. ADMIXTURES
- material other than the aggregate, water and cement added to the concrete
a. Water Reducing Admixture

- Used to minimize the water demand in a concrete mix. It also

improves the strength of concrete, good bond between concrete and
steel, prevents cracking, segregation, honeycombing, bleeding etc.

b. Retarding Admixture

- slow down the rate of hydration of cement in its initial stage

and increase the initial setting time of concrete

c. Accelerating Admixtures
- They speed up the process of initial stage of
hardening of concrete hence they are also called as
accelerators. These accelerators also improves the
strength of concrete in it early stage by increasing the rate
of hydration.

d. Air Entraining Concrete Admixture

- Their primary function is to increase the durability
of concrete under freezing and thawing conditions.
2. CEMENT FOR PLASTERING

There are three main

-
Cement Grades for plastering:
a. Ordinary Portland Cement
(OPC)
- available in two
grades — 43 and 53. Both grades are considered best for
plastering work. However, OPC 43 Grade is most
commonly used because OPC 53 Grade sometimes causes
shrinkage cracks to appear. However, OPC 53 grade is more
preferred due to its comprehensive strength and its long-
lasting lifetime
b. Portland Slag Cement (PSC)
- used for plastering work primarily in the coastal areas
because it provides excellent protection against salt water
c. Pozzolana Cement (PPC)
- only occasionally used in large-scale constructions such as
those of high-rises, bridges, dams, etc.
3. CONCRETE PAVERS

B. REPLACEMENT FOR CONCRETE HOLLOW BLOCK (CHB) WALL

- SW PANEL
- an alternative building system that can be used in place
of wood or metal-framed walls, hollow block walls or pre-cast panels

C. FOR FORMWORKS
1. METAL FORMS
a. COLUMN
b. BEAM
c. SLAB
2. SCAFFOLDS
a. GI PIPES AND CLAPS
b. H FRAMES
3. PLASTIC FORMS
D. FINISHING BOARDS
E.
1. HARDIFLEX
2. GYPSIUM BOARD
3. ACOUSTICAL BOARD
4. METAL TILE CEILING
5. METAL CEILING
6. METAL WALLS
F. METAL FRAMEWORKS
1. CEILING T – RUNNERS (for acoustical boards)
2. FURRINGS (for gypsum board)
3. METAL WALL STUDS
G. FLOORING MATERIALS
1. ENGINEERED WOOD PLANKS
2. FIBER CEMENT BOARDS
H. OTHER ROOFING SHEETS
