Evaluating and Enabling Keyboard Interaction with Finger and Hand Posture Identification Tow
ards the Computer Skills of Grade 10 Students of United Christian Academy

Chapter 3
Research Methodology
This chapter describes the operational plan of work or strategy. A number of activities in the pl

an of work include the following operations: a) locale of the study; b) research design; c) data gatheri

ng procedures; d) samples and samplings technique; e) research instrument; f) statistical treatment of

data.

Locale of the Study

The locale of the study is in UCA. UCA is a school was founded by the president Rev. Dr.

William G. Sy, For, Three times the vision appeared to him with amazing colorful broken glasses comi

ng from four direction that form into a textbook on the table. At first Dr. Sy took it to mean as starting

a bible school, And for almost six years his vision didn’t succeed. Since then from 1992 up to the e

arly part of 1997 that a definite revelation on became clearer to him that Dr. Sy establish an academi

c school and the United Christian Academy was molded.

Research Design

This research proposal will use a quantitative approach and survey to collect the data. Quantit

ative method is compatible with the study because it allows the research problem to be conducted in

a very specific and set terms. It seeks to know and describe the problem of the students in Keyboard

Interaction and Finger and Hand Posture Identification. The only materials that will be used are chec

klist survey questionnaires. The survey is longitudinal. Our group was divided into two. Five of our me

mbers are going to conduct a survey in Grade 9 students while the other five are conducting a surve

y in Grade 10 students. The researchers will get the whole population to fulfill the study. Researchers

begin with specific observation, which are used to produce generalized theories and conclusions draw
n from the research. This method helped the researchers, to achieve the goal of the study because t

he questions were answered.

Data Gathering

The researcher will provide the questionnaires to students who were enrolled in Grade 9 and

10 level because of their involvement in this study.

The handling of questionnaire will be done personally by the researchers and facilitated by the

retrieval of responses. This procedure also enabled the researcher to conduct a small interview sessio

n at the same time consecutively. The researchers collected the answered checklist questionnaire. Th

en proceed with the analysis and conclusion.

Sample and Sampling Technique

The study will use of (50) students-respondents from United Christian Academy. The responde

nts are those who are officially enrolled in Grades 10 level. Stratified sampling will be use in this stud

y so that we could make use of all the data efficiently. The respondents were selected based on the j

udgment of who has the capability in answering the specific questions of the research. The responden

ts who actually often experience the despoiled of the said factors affecting them in their skills were th

e capable ones to answer the checklist questionnaires.

nh = ( Nh / N ) * n

where nh is the sample size for stratum h, Nh is the population size for stratum h, N is total populatio

n size, and n is total sample size.
