Esplanade Concert Hall

41,000 shows, 28 million guests, 16 years and counting, Esplanade Concert Hall is one of the
busiest arts centres in the world with about 3,000 performances presented by Esplanade, its
collaboration partners and hirers yearly. Presenting the best in the performing arts, its
world-class venues have hosted a diverse range of dance, music and theatre performances, in
addition to captivating visual arts exhibitions and more.

It attracts a variety of audience- from those professional musicians who wants to listen to
world-class music to those who simply wants to enjoy. Coming here is surely a pleasure for all.
It has always been a common sight to see people watching concerts attentively in the hall and
cheering loudly after the concert is over, showing how much they’ve enjoyed themselves.

Personally for me, I will visit it at least twice a month to watch concerts. It could be to watch the
Singapore Symphony Orchestra performing some wonderful music, supporting my friends
performing with a community band or even as a performer on stage myself. It is a place that I
grew up with and foresee myself there regularly in the future as a professional musician. It is
just such a wonderful place - sitting down in the vast concert hall, hearing the sounds of echo,
meeting people with similar interests as me. No matter how stressed and tried I am from school
and other arduous activities, going there will immediately transform me with freshness and
rejuvenation.

Looking ahead, Esplanade Concert Hall will surely undergo some minor changes to its physical
appearances. However, I am sure that it will remain as the main major performance venue for
the arts in Singapore. It will continue to serve as a venue for like-minded performers to come
together and bond, reducing our differences and enforcing our similarities. The journey ahead is
surely very exciting.
