COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to equip future educators with conceptual and technical skills that will enable
them to effectively assess student learning and properly evaluate educational outcomes. It focuses on the
development and utilization of written assessment tools to improve the teaching-learning process.
Moreover, it allows students to incorporate concepts, theories, and current researches discussed in class in
their development and evaluation of classroom assessment tools and interpretation of assessment data.

On completion of the course, the student is expected to be able to do the following:

FINAL COURSE OUTPUT

LEARNING OUTCOME REQUIRED OUTPUT DUE DATE

LO1, 2, 3, 4 Field Work – Students will interview a


teacher/guidance counselor/or even a
psychometrician regarding the use and Week 5
importance of assessment tools in learning.

LO1, 2, 3, 4 Test Development Project – Students will


construct appropriate tests (two subjects)
of their chosen grade level. Students will Week 9
conduct face validity. This is an individual
or pair work.

LO1, 2, 3, 4 Final Test Project – The culminating


paper will make use of the data from the
Test Development Project. Students shall Week 13
conduct reliability, and item analysis.
Students will analyze the data and make
necessary recommendations regarding the
test they constructed.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND ASSESSMENTS:

Aside from the final output, the student will be assessed at other times during the term by the following:
