male role is getting the privilege of being superior …women are called another half of man but not
considered as… Pakistani society is considered male dominant society …According to world economic
gender gap report (2014), Pakistan is 141 out of 142 countries among worst places for women means
considered as second to last in worldwide report…Social or family pressure is considered one of the
important factors to stay in abusive relationships with their partners (Bell & Naugle, 2006)…forced to
live with brutal husband because society believed that a divorced girl is a curse for an honorable
family… at each and every step society encourage male’s wrong act …illiteracy among women s a leading
cause of male dominance…family consider male as an asset that’s why always support them…focusing
on stereotypic attributes and neglecting the situational attributions… concept of “patriarchy” leads to
women subordination and oppression…sexual harassment… domestic violence…dowry deaths… less
recognition in society… some still see a woman’s job as being inside the home, bearing and rearing
children and not much more…rate of unemployed women is much higher than men in Pakistan which
leads to economic crises…Women do not belong to the kitchen only and Men do not belong to the
business world making all of the money…its not only females job to keep house clean…gender inequality
is a leading cause of depression and anxiety in women results in suicide (Qasim, Mehboob, Akram, &
Masrour, 2015)…the word compromise is only for females…women are considered as slaves… Male
dominant society is a major cause for almost all the violence against women…to eliminate this problem
we need to unite…Stop discriminating men and women in any context…help women in finding
potentials in themselves which will promote empowerment…On institutional level awareness
sessions can be given on importance of gender equality, rights of women, creating courage to fight for
their own rights…role of government…We need to make #metoo not just a hashtag but a call to
action…Recognize your own worth…speak up against any violence…Let your voice be heard(Recognize
the value of your opinion and believe that what you have to share is worth listening to.)…drop the
apologies while speaking…Speak with confidence… It's nice to be nice, but always trying to please others
won't get you anywhere…Instead of avoiding conflict learn to communicate forwardly… Don't be afraid
to ask for a raise or promotion…don’t be the yes women always…
