Lesson Plan in MATH 1
___________________________________________________________________

I. OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson the learner’s should be able to;

A. Identify describing words;


B. Value our environment; and
C. Make use of adjectives as describing words.

II. Subject Matter:


Topic: Identifying descriptive words
References: MTB Curriculum Pp.218-224
Materials: pictures, manila paper, cartolina
Code: MT1OL-IVa-i-1.3
Value Focus: Environmental Care

III. Learning Activities:


A. Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
4. Review
Ask the pupils to recall what the previous topic was. And let the
pupils to tell what is the meaning of action word. Action words are verb,
which are words that describe actions.

B. Developmental Activities
a. Activity/Motivation:
 The teacher will paste a picture on the board.

Look at your community. What have you seen? How can you care or
protect it? In what way can you protect it?
Ask:
1. Who are they in the picture?
2. What they are doing?
3. What did the father do?
4. What can you say about the picture?

b. Unlocking of Difficulties:
crying hug pull smile

c. Presentation:
Focus on the following target words to unlock their meaning through
the suggested strategies. Teacher present a lot of pictures.
1. What did the two child in the first picture?
2. What did the child do?
3. What did the mother do to her daughter?
d. Discussion:
Focus on these ideas:
 Adjectives – describes or modifies a noun.
 It provides further information about a noun, indicating things
like size, shape, color and more.
 Adjectives can also modify pronouns.
 Here are some examples of adjectives in action.
 It’s a big table (size)
 It’s a round table (shape)
 It’s a brown table (color)
 It’s an English table (origin)

e. Generalization:
Remember these:
 Adjective is a word also that describes an animal, person,
thing, or thought.
 Adjectives include words that describe what something look
like and what it feels like to tough, taste, or smell.
Examples:
 The beautiful butterfly flew away.
 An amethyst is a purple gemstone.
 The warrior was fierce.

Directions: Underline the words that describe it.

4. My mother and father are nice.
5. The air around us was fresh.
